These are your typical ac install (get a pro if you don't know). They are fairly bright and stay lit for a good long time. Well over an hour. We put them in the shop hallways and in the office ones as well. We haven't needed them yet but it's storm season now and they could prove very very useful. They are a little plain Jane looking but for my purposes they suit me just fine.

If a person can't get out of a building with 1.5 hours of decent light, they likely have bigger issues..... I powered on one of these "Pendtlit Commercial Emergency Light" fixtures and let the backup battery fully charge. The unit was on wall power for 24hrs, so I could give it a good test on a full battery. My findings surprised me. Comments below in the form of a Pros and Cons list. Pros: 1) Package arrived safely and had no damage. 2) Six light fixtures in the box (good quantity) 3) Easy power application - two wires for 120V - (Does apparently support 277<not tested) 4) Red indicator comes on to signify power is applied 5) No issues with charging the battery (clearly as you'll see below) 6) Battery backup of over an hour and a half seems "EXCELLENT" to me. Was still providing decent light after 1.5 hours. Lighting was not fully depleted by any stretch (see picture with lights on after 1.5hrs and power plug in my hand) 7) Adjustable lens positioning likely very helpful 8) Mounting and powering to base is quite simple 9) Connection of head unit to base requires no screws (snaps in place for all connections, electrically and mechanically) 10) Overall - quite a bit in a single slick package Cons: 1) The only items I might put forth in this category is brightness of the lights. If flooding an area with light is the ideal for 15 minutes or so, this is likely not the fixture for you. If you want decent lighting as a pathway for egress that'll last over 1.5 hours, this is most definitely the fixture for you. Note: In summary, If I needed a egress light for emergencies, I'd definitely go with this fixture. This fixture worked quite well for me and has incredible longevity.

My old emergency lighting fixture’s battery died of old age. When I looked for a replacement battery, I discovered that a new battery would be $42. I looked for an alternative and found this LED Emergency Lighting Fixture for less than the price of a replacement battery. This made for an easy decision. I ordered the six pack as all my old emergency lighting fixtures batteries are bad. The new emergency lighting fixture is packaged in a cardboard box and includes three wire nuts, a set of drywall anchors, a set of long mounting screws, and an instruction sheet. These units are labeled with a UL listing sticker. Once installed and connected to AC power, you need to connect the battery to the control board. The emergency lighting fixture needs to charge the internal battery for a few hours before you can do the self-test. It takes at least a full day to fully charge the battery. I tested the emergency lighting fixture to see how long it can provide emergency lighting based on a few charge cycles. After a 24 hour charge, the emergency lighting fixture provided emergency lighting for at least 140 minutes which greatly exceeds the manufacture specifications of >90 minutes. The battery in this emergency lighting fixture is a 1000 Ma 3.6v Ni-Cd (nickel-cadmium) battery. It would have been better if they used the more environmentally friendly NiMh (Nickel-metal hydride) battery instead of the Ni-Cd battery. When charging, the measured the power consumption of the device was about 1 watts. Energy wise, this device draws very little power. What I do not like: Unlike every other Emergency Light I have tested so far, these units do not turn off when the battery is almost out of power. The Emergency Light should turn off when the battery voltage falls below 3 volts (1 volt per cell) as the battery voltage is too low power the lights properly. This does not happen and the Emergency Light gets dimmer and dimmer until the battery voltage falls to 1.8 volts when the light finally stops. It’s not healthy to discharge Ni-Cd batteries that deep as it could cause a cell to reverse charge and that can destroy a Ni-Cd battery. Generally, I am very pleased with the performance of this device. It is almost the same size of the original unit; it exceeds the manufacturer’s specifications; and was easy to mount in place of the old unit. Now only if the manufacturer can address the deep discharge issue…

These emergency lights work great! I preferred not to hard wire mine in a box, so I added a cord that I could plug into any outlet in my home and mount where I needed them most. They come with detailed instructions for mounting, safety and operation. They are bright and have a test button on the bottom for testing the battery. The lights will rotate to the desired direction you need for maximum coverage. I'm totally satisfied with these emergency lights! Recommended product!

These replaced some existing emergency lights that had yellowed with age. They are small but bright and were easy to wire. They operated correctly when we tested them by shutting off the breaker and they passed the township inspection process with no issue. 5 stars. Good product.
