  • This pencil is shockingly capable.
Color: White
I have recently learned that having an Apple Pencil and a 2 year old…is a dangerous combination. I have always been ultra-focused on keeping track of my Apple Pencil. I am not an artist but I do work in the creative field. I don’t use my pencil everyday. But that days that I do, it is an essential part of my workflow. I am a video producer and use my 12.9 inch iPad Pro while I am conducting interviews. During the interviews I use the Apple Pencil to take notes, mark off questions, and jot down anything that is important. I went to prepare for work the other day and my pencil was GONE. I searched the house. 4 times. Eventually I gave up. Out of panic, I ordered another Apple Pencil. They are NOT cheap. I have always struggled with how much they cost considering how little I use it (compared to visual artists). After placing the order, I remembered an article I read on The Verge about 3rd party Apple Pencil alternatives. I figured I had nothing to lose, thanks to Amazon’s easy return policy. When this pencil arrived, I was shocked at how much it looked like the original one. It looks and feels almost the same, except it is a little bit lighter. It magnetically attaches to the side of my iPad and charges just like the Apple one. Writing on the screen is just as fast and smooth. I see absolutely no difference in performance. When I am highlighting notes and I turn this pencil sideways, it widens the breadth of where it is highlighting just like a real highlighter. I have always thought this was a cool feature of the Apple Pencil and this product is no different. My iPad battery widget shows the charge level just like the real one. The only feature lacking is pressure sensitivity. This pencil can’t tell how hard you are pressing down on it. But I find this to be 0% a problem for me at all. The pressure sensor is mainly used by visual artists who are drawing or painting with it. Someone who just takes notes has no need for the pressure feature. I honestly didn’t even know that was a feature until I lost mine and started looking at alternatives. There is one thing that slightly irks me about this product (and it is not a big deal at all). You have to wake it up when you first remove it from the iPad. I have found that this takes less than one second. When I remove it, I let go and allow it to snap back onto the magnets briefly. Then the light comes on and I pick it up again and use it. It has only been a few days and I am already used to doing this I don’t feel like it slows me down at all. If I know I am going to be taking a bunch of notes, I just leave it off the magnets until I’m done. There is one major advantage compared to the Apple branded pencil. Because this one needs to be woken up, the battery is preserved when it is not attached to the iPad. The Apple version tends to die in my backpack if I don’t have it attached to the side of the magnets. The “always on” nature of it means that it is always using a little juice even as it jostles around in my backpack. But this pencil, does not lose any charge unless you are writing with it. It can bounce around my backpack for days and not loose even a single % of charge. Unless you are very into drawing on your iPad, this is a no brainer. It is $100 USD cheaper and does almost everything the Apple version costs. I have since found my missing Apple pencil but I still use this one as my primary. Because it costs so much less, I don’t live in fear every day that I am going to lose it. If I do, it is not the end of the world. If you’re considering getting this, give it a try. You’ll love it. ... show more

  • Pencil is great. Awesome price but!!
Color: White
The media could not be loaded. I just bought this pencil in black and have another white one on its way that it will probably be returned. The issue for me specifically is that pencil technically does work. And can be used with the iPad Pro M4 2024 but it will not charge wirelessly. Since it is not compatible with the wireless charger of the new 2024 iPads. FYI. Please check. If you have the new iPad Pro M4 2024 the pencil has a hard time attaching like it does not align well with magnets. And also it does not charge wirelessly. Sadly this pencil can only be charged wirelessly. Keep that in mind. And runs around that is to have an old iPad solely to charge the pencil. But if you have previous version of the iPad Pro. This is an EXCELLENT PENCIL!! I love the pencil. So if it is a previous version of the iPad Pro. Just don’t think twice about it. It is a great product. ... show more

  • Indispensable for iPad Users!
The iPencil 2nd Generation is a must-have accessory for iPad users. The magnetic attachment and wireless charging make it so convenient to store and charge, and the precision is top-notch for both drawing and note-taking. It’s lightweight and comfortable to hold for long periods. While it’s expensive, the functionality and seamless integration with Apple devices make it worth the investment. Highly recommend this for students, artists, and professionals! ... show more

  • Works great, but one feature wont work
I use this with an iPad Pro 12.9inch running OS V17.5.1. It works REALLY well as a pencil, charges effectively off the side of the iPad, I never need to think about charging it. It really raised my game while working a script (I'm an actor). But one little feature wont work - double click the pencil for the action menu. I don't know why but it's just a small complaint and doesn't take away from the overall effectiveness. As a price comparison with the Apple product - this is excellent value for money! ... show more

  • Great price point and works great!
Great price point and works great! It shows it’s a frequently returned item but I love how functional this pencil is with my iPad Pro 12.9” generation. Should be criminal how much Apple charges for theirs.

  • Longevity
Color: White
I bought this pencil in 2022 along with my iPad. All I can say in this review is that it was the best pencil I’ve ever purchased in terms of dupes. Very responsive, the connection is an easy process, and charges swell. I don’t have any bad things to say about it really. It lasted me a long time and it’s still working, however now I have to manually turn off the pencil then turn it back on in order for it to connect, but this is only done once before it goes into dormant mode when not used for awhile. I can connect it to my iPad and it’ll start working again or I’ll just turn it on with the button. So that’s telling me its time is *almost near, but it’s still pushing through! The writing is great too, I don’t see it leaving cuts when I write in good notes. Doesn’t have the tap feature like the real Apple pencil does, but I don’t really care about that. I am currently looking to buy the Apple pencil as now it’s cheaper, but if the connection wasn’t wonky now I’d use it forever lol. In conclusion, GET THIS PENCIL IF YOU’RE ON A BUDGET. I promise you, you won’t regret it. ... show more

  • Does what it says. Seamless pairing and operation,
Amazing. For a fraction of the price, works to perfection on my iPad Pro. Even better than the brand name! You can rest your hand on the pad and write!! Took a chance and am very pleased with the results. Would buy again.
