    • Great lightweight kids paddle
We have a tandem kayak and my 7 year old likes to sit in the front. He gets kinda bored sometimes, but my paddle is too heavy for him. This is perfect. He's able to turn the kayak when needed and can help us move forward too. It's not as great for forward motion so if he were on his own kayak I'm not sure how he'd do. But for the tandem kayak this is perfect. Update: Unfortunately, if you leave this paddle in the car trunk even with nothing on top of it, the heat warps it. I always leave my own paddle in the car so this one was no different. And it hasn't been over 90 degrees where I live so I'm pretty disappointed. ... show more

Can’t yet comment on durability but the paddle looks good for it’s intended purpose — enabling kids to get paddling before they’re able to use an adult size. Its multiple pieces go together easily but… there are no directions. So look things over before you start. Make sure you notice the bump-like protrusions on the yellow center piece and how they should match up with the holes in the shaft halves, and need to stay seated as you tighten the collars that hold them in place. Also, and not surprisingly for this price, there is no adjustability to feather the blades. For a child, you likely don’t want them feathered anyway. However, when you screw the blades onto the shaft, you may or may not wind up with some arbitrary feathered position, as the machining on the plastic pieces is not super precise. As a workaround fix, try using some tape around the last threads to change the orientation one of the blades when it gets screwed in tightly. This seems to work. I don’t mean to scare off potential buyers with these cautions — I am satisfied with the product, as I couldn’t find a better choice. ... show more
