It started of as a prescription than I started purchasing it here on Amazon (big mistake). This is a great product if anyone in the family (young or old) is severely underweight, can not eat solid foods or needs to gain weight. I do not recommend frequent or long term use for more than a year. According to my observation, weight gain is too fast and it still left my daughter feeling hungry and severely constipated. Taking too much PediaSure (6 bottles a day) over a long period of time or too frequently can lead to obesity. I think PediaSure may be addictive because she would prefer PediaSure over real food. I regret not taking her off earlier, but grateful it helped her gain her energy back after all her medical issues. ... show more
