Simple interconnect to the main solar generator (F5000LFP) with two (provided) cables. The main unit then automatically balances the internal battery and the expansion battery over several hours. There are LEDs on the expansion battery that provide information on the current charge level and state of balance (yellow balancing, green balanced). Note I did have to pop off the plastic pull handle on one side of each cable to fit through the handle, but that's easy and it snaps back on if you want. The Pecron app doesn't show the state of the expansion battery charge, but the generator menu does. Shortly after getting the F500LFP, we had a storm related 36 hour power outage. The F5000LFP worked like a champ, powering our critical loads (refrigerator, freezer, window AC) in high 90's heat. We got 6 of the Pecron solar panels, and even just lying them flat we were charging at 1300W, about twice the load. That kept everything running overnight, and charged back up during the day. We decided to get the expansion battery to allow more buffer for increased loads. ... show more

I'm a bit new to power stations so toured YT university and settled on Pecron F5000LFP and 2 of the F5000-48 backup batteries due to all the favorable reviews. I reached out to Pecron customer service a few times while rounding the learning curve. They were very patient considering that I was not. They were very helpful holding my hand through the process. I have not fully cycled through the batteries so I can't comment on their function although I can comment on Pecron's customer service which I give 5 stars. ... show more

    • Stock shortages for warranty
Purchased on June 27 2006 with F5000LFP. The power station was not seeing the FP5000-48v. Worked with support and received a return label for the extra battery mid July and delivery to PECRON on July 27th. The “shipment” sits in label printed status as of today 7/12/2026.

added to my breaker box. i have a 30 amp inlet with a breaker switch interlock and a 30 amp outlet to charge the unit. so far so good. planning on adding expansion batteries and 1600 watts of solar.
