Replacement for the tiny, low-profile anchor that comes with Peak Design shoulder straps. I lost mine. I'd been keeping a tripod plate on my camera with a peak design loop hooked in.... but any other solution is just more bulky. This tiny little thing is basically unnoticable on my X-T3 and doesn't interfere with the camera's fit into any case or bag. I finally gave in and sacrificed my $10 on the altar to brand name design. At least this replacement comes with an extra allen wrench. Any similar wrench of the right size will do but its nice to have one on a key ring so I can hook it into a camera bag (at least i won't lose that). FYI you do need the wrench. I can usually remove the plate without the wrench, as long as I didn't go nuts and way-over-tighten the plate when I put it on. But to put this anchor mount back on the camera, it's best to use the wrench. You REALLY don't want the plate coming loose later after all......

Love this strap anchor! It stays put once you tighten it down with the included allen wrench, and it has a very low profile. It’s made carrying my camera so much more comfortable with the left end of the strap on the camera’s left strap point, and the right end on this anchor (the lens points more down without making the body dig into my stomach or hip). My strap stays out of the way of my right hand now while shooting too. I use a pair of paracord loops so I can easily remove the guitar style strap that I use, but a standard camera strap will fit perfectly without them. I ordered a second one to attach a wrist strap to my 70-200’s tripod mount. Very happy with these secure little anchors!

It's smaller than I expected, which is great. I was looking for a very small mount - I'm tired of the big, heavy, sharp-cornered tripod plate I've had for years. I don't mind at all unhooking the mount if I'm going to use a tripod (the allen key provided is sturdier than other reviews led me to believe, and has a ring attached to it so I can clip it to my camera bag.) It's light, well-constructed, and was promptly delivered. Maybe ten bucks is a little steep, but it's nothing compared to the rest of my gear, and the convenience it brings is worth it. Note that because it's so small, your hand strap will need to extend further than with a traditional plate.

I bought their slide camera strap and immediately realized this part was perfect for the safety tether of my other shoulder strap. So, I ordered this as a separate part. It does come this the wrench - which I wasn’t sure about. A “standard” type nylon camera strap fits the openings perfectly. I have it permanently attached it to one of the two tripod mounts on my 600mm lens. If the safety tether is ever needed I don’t want the camera body taking the force of that lens and I trust this part to take the stress.

Originally I had my strap connected to the built-in points on my D3400, but I didn't like the way the camera hung with the lens pointing straight out, and removing the strap when I didn't want to use it was a pain. I bought this so my camera hangs with the lens pointing down and out of the way. It secures to the tripod mount very well, and it's more comfortable to hang around my neck, and easy to remove with an Allen key (included) when I don't want it on.

I would have given this a 5 star rating if it had a slot for a screw driver or a coin to release and tighten as well. The one came with the strap was bulky, but at least the screw on that one has a slot. It's for one of those times when you needed to remove it to put your camera on a tripod but don't have the tool to do it.

I used this to replace the base plate that came with my Peak Design Clutch CL2, which is another 5star product from Peak Design. This lower profile plate makes for a slightly less bulky setup and generally cleaned up the lines of my camera so that it sits better on a table or in my bag. I had no issues with the indued screw backing out or not remaining tight. If I did I wouldn't hesitate to use a minuscule amount of purple (the weakest) Loctite on the 1/4-20 screw.
