The vertical poles have measurements so you can set it to your desired height. Materials seem to not be bothered by moderate weather. I have purchased an additional set after owning the first set for over a year and being very satisfied with this product. It is light weight which makes transporting the set very easy. Being light weight, in exceptionally windy areas or heavy storms I could see the need for anchoring the base down. Otherwise, this product does well standing in grass or hard surfaces. I am very pleased with these jumps for the price. Easy to put together although the pieces go in snugly and took a bit of finesse to get the pipes to fit in the couplings. Not real sturdy but certainly very sturdy compared to my expectations from reading other reviews. My dogs and I will get a lot of use out of these. I am pleased. 4 rather than 5 stars since the height markings shown in the product pictures are absent from my set....that would have been a very nice and valuable addition. I passed over another set that came without markings. Oh well. I will be adding blue tape to the jump bar to make it more visible for the dog. Happy with my purchase overall. ... show more

Initially, I was overwhelmed by the number of pieces I had to put together, but it was actually very easy. I love this set piece and I bought it not for dogs but for agility sessions for my soccer team. it would be 5 stars but some of the sticks smell like dog pee, the bag came with brown dog hair, I’m missing one base connector and two of the base connector molds seem to be chipped when prefab broke it off the mold. the connections are a bit hard to connect so I may apply some wax later. The functionality of the adjustment is nice and easy to use. I love the measurements on the sides of the height sticks This will work great for my need since kids are clumsy and reckless at times and I’m not breaking the bank.
