The Small Slat Mill is absolutely perfect for my high energy Yorkshire Terrier (weighing approx. 15 pounds) - Bentley. Previously, we have tried a regular “power” treadmill and he hated the motor and the beeps/sounds it made. Bentley would just get more anxious at the noises of the electric treadmill so we stopped and kept looking for alternative options. The Slat Mill has been so much better since Bentley is able to control the speed and run at his own pace and comfort, especially considering he is a “senior” dog. This is definitely not just for big or young dogs! Running on the Slat Mill seems natural for Bentley (similar to running outside) and he has been very excited to keep running. Also, very easy and quick to assemble!

First, I will say my dog loves this slatmill and uses it daily. It seems to hold up well from daily use so far and it’s a great way for my dog to burn energy. Now for the not so great. This is a prime example of great idea with just ok execution. The parts were not manufactured to be the exact size as needed, I had to bend some of the parts to get them to fit correctly. Also the instructions are not only lacking but also flat out wrong at times. It seems like there was an update to manufacturing and design that never made it to the instructions. Once you get passed the very tedious process of putting it together it’s actually pretty sturdy. I do with this came with a break functionality that will help slow the mill and keep it from moving when my dog jumps up on it. Big miss/oversight on that. It does work exactly how you’d expect/want and I will be using it in place of walks during summer. Also unless you have a ting dog, just opt for the large. I have a standard medium sized dog and he almost doesn’t fit the medium size.

The media could not be loaded. This treadmill has been a relief to both of us! Our doggie is high energy and a robust young pup. Every day, the start of our daily walk is frustrating with his excitement and pulling to go faster and faster, but it is no fun for me, and he can tell. Now we do a 10-15 minute run on the treadmill, and all the immediate energy he has gets relieved, and we can have a mostly pleasant walk (until we encounter other dogs, deer, or the occasional bear). Otherwise, the PawPaw treadmill has helped enormously! Generally, the treadmill is a good value and a reasonable build quality for the price. I had to sand some of the wood runners as some parts had a splinter or two. There are higher-end, pricier ones, but I'm satisfied with the PawPaw.

Before I begin I want to say that I am giving it 4 stars because it doesn't have a manual brake so I have to use a wood clamp in order to get my dog on it and secured without any issues. Other than that, it's a great sledmill. My dog loves it, she walks on it nearly every day whether there's bad weather or not. The first day she was hesitant, then she got her "sea legs" and has been hauling @$$ ever since. Definitely wears her out at night before bed. The only thing I will tell to potential buyers is to make 100% sure you know when it's being delivered and that you or someone in your household will be home to receive it. It required a signature. Idk if it was FexEx or the seller who screwed it up, but apparently the shipping method was the cheapest you can get and they don't allow you to pick it up at the facility or sign for it ahead of time. I found that odd because I just had a $3000 pc delivered to my house and didn't require a signature at all. Who knows. Just be aware that's how it is.

The media could not be loaded. We recently inherited a beautiful husky, but she is an escape artist with high energy. Due to her only being able to have walks on a leash at the moment, we invested in this (medium size) treadmill. She had the hang of what to do within 10 minutes and refuses to stop running! We have 3 other dogs to try it out on, they are medium sized, but they will be able to use this large size with no issues. Instructions we easy for me and I was able to put it together by myself. I read to leave the screws loose until whatever side you are working on is lined up and that ensured the assembly phase went smoothly. A break of sorts would be pretty awesome for loading and unloading, but that is nothing a stick or piece of conduit can't fix.

For anyone like me who has comfort in being able to return an item if it doesn’t work for you, that mindset ends here. From a business standpoint I get it, but the cost to return ship this back, is the cost of what you are paying for this item ($570+). To the item itself, what I got was wood that was needing to be sanded down (just running my hands on it I could feel the splinters), dented wood slats already needing replacement, the side rails had dents on them (for how well it was shipped I doubt this was from transport), & the wooden runway/belt would graze the bottom legs holding it up. In regard to the handymen in previous reviews who made this item work for them, 1- that’s great, but I’m not a handyman, & 2- I disagree with their loose excuses of “it’s not the high end product, so what do you expect”. Ask any woman out there, if you are buying a dupe product, you still expect the dupe product to work && not have to put so much work into making the product function for what you need. This product in my opinion is not worth it. Save your hard earned money & go ahead & buy the high end product that’s built right. (& yes my return request was approved by seller however, again, there was 0 point in me trying to ship it back due to cost. Even rhe UPS workers who tried to help me said it wasn’t worth the cost & were genuinely concerned for how much I was going to have to pay.)
