I have a 100 gallon pond. During the summer the water gets pretty warm and thus doesn't hold a lot of oxygen. I thought a little extra aeration would benefit my fish. This unit provides plenty of bubbles. I guess my fish are happier, but who knows. I'm hopeful the extra O2 will also benefit the bacteria that break down waste. Regardless, I really like the way the bubbles look in the pond. Very pleasing. I have the unit outside. I placed a plastic container over the top and weighted it down with a rock to protect it from water. The unit is pretty quiet, and being it is outdoors It is virtually silent in my application.

The media could not be loaded. I have 2 small ponds each under 150 gallons. This has dual outlet so I ran one line to each small pond and it is working well and extremely quiet! I live in PA and Winter can get cold so this will help keep open area in ice. I have had small ponds for about 20 years, this is a great value.

It was quiet when I first started using it. Now a few months later, it's getting louder, not that different from my old tetra ones. I have to wrap it in a towel but it gets hot. Still searching for a pump that's quiet and powerful enough.
