Both of my purchases have been authentic products and salon quality. Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two, Clarifying Shampoo Deeply cleanses and removes dulling buildup. Leaves hair squeaky clean, shiny and full of body. Crisp, energizing lemon scent. Smells nice, but, not overwhelming or offensive. I do not have oily hair . It’s long and normal-dry. Thus, I can go several days between shampooing. But, I need a good cleansing and scalp shampoo. I’ve been looking for a shampoo that was as good as the discontinued Neutrogena Clean shampoo. I am convinced that it doesn’t exist and have moved on from Neutrogena products. I’ve purchased MANY different shampoo products that claim to be clarifying or scalp cleansing. They claim to contain vinegar, rosemary,tea tree or numerous other ingredients that merit price point. None of these various products are cheap ranging from $8 - $20. Wasted money. Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two, Clarifying Shampoo is the best that I’ve tried. My hair and scalp are clean. It doesn’t strip or dull my hair. I’m staying with this shampoo. This shampoo does have a cleansing power! I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and because of the amount of hair I have it can easily get greasy looking from all the “build up” of even $70 shampoo. We even have a water softener, but the build up still occurs all the time. I believe that the moisture level is perfect because it does hydrate the hair and scalp but doesn’t make it too dry or too “greasy looking”. The color is clear and transparent so you know that it is a clarifying shampoo. The bottle is very sturdy and easily stands up in a built in “niche” in the shower wall or in a self adhesive metal shower caddy. One thing to remember is seeing that it is a clarifying shampoo it doesn’t have a “fluffy lather”, therefore do not keep adding more shampoo to your hair. As long as you rub your hair and scalp with your fingers and you see suds throughout then you have enough! Definitely worth the money. The reason for 4/5 stars is because the scent is very light to the point where it really doesn’t have a scent at all. I would prefer to have some type of scent. Would recommend. ... show more

The reason why I put for curly hair is because you usually have to put a lot of products (leave in, curling crème, gel, oil) to maintain curly hair and sometimes you have to refresh once or multiple times with more products before wash day which cause an extreme amount of build up. Build up for curly hair is terrible because it extends drying time, weights your curls down, makes your hair brittle and worst of all causes curls to lose form. My hair was becoming difficult to maintain and my curls had lost their shape so I tried another brand of clarifying shampoo which did wonders for my scalp but left my ends extremely dry so I forced to use copious amount of product to soften my ends which is redundant to my objective. I had used Paul Mitchell detangler before and loved it so why I saw this shampoo pop up I decided to purchase it. It was the best decision I have made. It lathered on good, I was expecting for it to dry my hair a little but my hair was soft and shiny when I finished. I have very thick curly 4b hair and honestly could have brushed my hair without a conditioner if I wanted to(it usually takes me 30 min after conditioning sometimes). My hair was very clean and weightless. My curls were back to their natural form and my drying time was a lot shorter since the build up with washed out. I’m in love with this product and I honestly think I found the shampoo I’m gonna use till the day I die. I’ve never felt more strongly about a shampoo before. I don’t remember if Paul Mitchell products are sealed but this item I received wasn’t sealed and there was some spill but thankful the product it’s self was packaged in a plastic bag which contained the spill so that I was abel to use what had been collected in the plastic bag. I switched over from using shampoos on the better end of drugstore brands. It's certainly not foamy as the other clarifying shampoos I've used. I wind up using a lot more product than expected, because it's not easy to spread around. However, I also notice that there's less hair in the drain after washing with this shampoo compared to others. I'm not sure if that's due to the quality of shampoo, or because the texture of it being harder to spread around, means I've changed my scrubbing technique to accommodate it. I used to go 2-3 days between hair washes and with this shampoo, that's increased by a day, to 3-4. (Four days between washes being in cooler weather, not a heavy gym week, haven't used styling product, etc.). I typically use this first, then do my second wash with Shampoo One from the same brand. The lemon-lime scent is as expected, not too strong. The scent doesn't last after rinsing so it won't clash with the conditioner scent of your choice. ... show more
