This brush works well as a man with short hair. However, it's the first brush I've ever had that didn't have protective coatings at the end of the bristles. They are pointy and pretty sharp and hurt my scalp if I apply any pressure while brushing. I think it's a great price and works well for blow drying and brushing but you have to learn not to apply any pressure while brushing.

I really liked this brush. The nylon bristles weren't as hard as the cheaper brushes that look similar. Also, for the first time I was able to see my curls get smooth and clumped. The draw back was after too much slippage from my detangler, the brush continued to slide off the handle. I have 4B, low porosity hair so I have to use a detangler with good slip. I don't know if it is the oils in the detangler or the wood handle that caused it. It didn't start out sliding, so I thought it was going to be a good substitute for the Denman. I hadn't bought the Denman D4, but heard it doesn't slide off. From what I can tell, it is a decent brush for detangling, clumping and smoothing, aside from it sliding off.

I love this brush. It feels good in my hand, and the teeth are spaced well for de-tangling my average wavy hair. The teeth do not have separate tips that fall off of the ends, leaving scratchy teeth behind. So the teeth always feel good against my scalp.
