I saw this purple shampoo on a Brad Mondo video. He was comparing five different purple shampoos. According to Brad this one came smack dab in the middle. Of course his number one was a very expensive purple shampoo. I forget what the second was. Then this shampoo was his 3rd. He really didn't have a bad thing to say about it. It smells good which I agree. It was mild, yet worked good. I totally agree. For the price you can't go wrong with this one. I have never had a bad experience with any Paul Mitchell products so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did. I use it once a week or once every two weeks. Depending on the tone your aiming for. I am TRYING to transition to my natural salt and pepper gray. This is making the tones more even. I do think I'm going to try the Jeff's Barbershop hair oil. I'm half Portuguese so I normally have dryer wavy/curly hair. So good healthy oils go a long way with my hair texture. I've been using Olaplex's purple shampoo for a while, but wanted a cheaper alternative. I like some other products from this brand, so I figured this would be an affordable alternative. It didn't tone the way that I wanted it to; I was still yellowy blonde instead of a silver or platinum. The extra amount of product I needed to use to even attempt to tone it as well as other brands negates the cost savings. The positives include that the smell was nice, almost sweet like watermelon. It lathered beautifully, and didn't have a negative impact on the texture of my hair. If you're going for a very slightly toned blonde, this may work for you.
