  • Cheap RAM is for cheap computers.
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
Bought a brand new HP desktop 8yrs ago for $350. Had 2 sticks of 2Gb-1200mhz until today. Took those 2 out, popped this 8Gb-1600mhz baby in, crossed my fingers, and BAM! After an unusually long boot up, it worked. I almost bought a new computer, but thought why not spend $40 to see if I could speed this one up enough to make it tolerable. The memory was always showing over 75% full, and I couldn't help but feel it was my bottleneck. We use the computer for QuickBooks online, and kept having the urge to shoot ourselves in the face due to the horrific load times while logged into QB even though we have fiber running at gigabit speeds. Now that urge has subsided 😁. Load times are around 1/3 what it was. Gonna buy another stick, because I've been reading that computers operate more efficient with two sticks. If it improves performance even more then it's a win. I'm going to hold on to the old stick since other reviews are talking about some sort of "blue screen". During that long initial boot I'd mentioned earlier, the screen was blue, so I was scared af lol. Anyway I'll update if anything changes. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
I ordered this for my Cybertron desktop gaming computer. I bought the computer in 2015 but never got around to upgrading it because the games I was playing put very few demands on my system. Now I am playing heavily modded Fallout 4 and I was really noticing the limitations of my 8 GB RAM and GeForce GT 740. I contacted Cybertron to ask which of the myriad choices for RAM was the proper one and they pointed to the Patriot Signature 8GM DIMM DDR3 CL11 PC3-12800 (1600MHz). They also told me I could buy it cheaper from Amazon than from them. I ordered the RAM, had it two days later, and immediately installed it. I booted up my computer and checked to make sure the upgrade registered with the system and there it was: 16GB RAM. Beautiful. Everything worked fine. I started up Fallout 4 and immediately noticed an improvement in performance. A lot less stuttering. I went to work tweaking my load order and if I still lack a high-end gaming computer (and need to upgrade my graphics card) I can at least play and enjoy the modded atmosphere, particularly Vivid Commonwealth and Calamity Weathers. I have been using it all week now, playing at least 20 hours this week as I tweak my game setup. The Patriot RAM does what it is supposed to do and without a hitch. Five stars. ... show more

  • Ram causing BSOD (Update: 02-28-19)
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
-Update: Just received my replacement in the mail. Installed and now it's working fine. No BSOD's, no errors, absolutely pleased with the results. Updated to five stars for quickness of service. Currently I am running 16gb of RAM and wanted to put another 8gb stick in my PC to bring it up to a healthy but overkill 24gb. I received the RAM today, grounded myself, and installed it into my PC. All went well for roughly 35 seconds and then my PC crashed. Restarted it three times and it still crashed all three times. Plucked out my RAM and behold: it didn't crash. I even switched spots on my mobo and it still crashed. Pretty disappointed. I know Patriot is a good brand for RAM, but this is unfortunate. I'm going to see if I can either get a replacement for it or if unable to, get a refund. If anything updates, I will change my rating. Currently though, I'm unsatisfied. ... show more

  • A respectable brand/performer.
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
This isn't the fastest memory, nor the most overclock-friendly, but it matches the stick that was already installed in my Cybertron Rhodium Ti desktop so it was the simplest/least-expensive choice to get to 16GB and enable dual channel mode (which gives you a free speed boost as long as you have two sticks with identical SPD timings). Installing the memory was painless and BIOS automatically enabled dual channel mode. When I re-ran Passmark PerformanceTest 9.0 the memory score increased from 1084 to 1224 (+13%), which is about the best you can expect. One oddity: CPU-Z reports the originally installed stick as Patriot, and this stick as Hyundai (while the actual manufacturer of the DRAM ICs on this stick is SKHynix, which is a reputable, if somewhat sub-rosa, brand). The SPD timings are identical, though, and that is what is most important for getting dual channel mode to work. Finally, while there isn't a heatsink on the DRAM ICs, they are only running 2-3 degrees warmer than room temperature so it doesn't seem to matter. ... show more

  • Watch the video
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
I cannot truly speak toward gaming, as that’s not why I got it, but rather because I work a lot with images and design software, and sometimes in 3D, and I saw I had expansion space on my computer to add one of these. Installing it was really easy, and gave me the opportunity to clean out the fans and inside of the case. It works with Windows 10, and my Lenovo computer, as promised. I haven’t noticed any increased speed in loading anything, but I am maxed out now with 16GB, and anyway a video card would likely help me build speed, however then I would probably need to upgrade my power supply, too. ... show more

  • Lifesaver for aging 2014 Dell Inspirion tower!
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
I upgraded my 2014 Dell Inspiron w/8 GB (2 x 4) with this 2x8 package of RAM-- it was a lifesaver, after the tower was starting to die out due to age and overload, hardly functioning at all. The installation was easy as pie (I'm not that teckhy), just unscrew the 2 tower hand screws, lift off the cover and there she was- the 2x4 existing RAM modules. The Patriots snapped right in place, and when I re-started, the computer came back to life. Rather than being a tortuous experience to operate the machine, with these 2 new modules, it's like brand new, maybe even a tad faster. ... show more

  • Almost completely solved my problem
Color: 8GB 1600MHz Single Module
Before I purchased this I had 12 GB of RAM and would crash every time I launch the division 2 within 20 minutes. Now regardless of what computer specs you have this game does have a bad known crashing problem for most players but I bought this stick a couple weeks ago bringing me from 12 GB now to 20 GB and I went from crashing every time I launch the game to now every 2 to 3 days which is an insane improvement so it definitely helped my problem and I feel like it even made my computer a little faster all around even just slightly since my brows are always has like 30 tabs open and now I can navigate through them a little quicker. ... show more
