I needed some 100% blackout curtains and these don’t disappoint. I’ve purchased other colors in the past, but I needed some for the front room that faces the street. Due to HOA rules, those curtains must be white. Unfortunately, the white “blackout” curtains have a black layer of fabric on the back-side. But after trying other options, I have decided to use these, but put them up backwards. I have a more decorative pair of curtains that face the room on a traditional curtain rod above the window; but they aren’t blackout. So I use these curtains on a spring locking tension bar inside the window frame. The room is now completely pitch black! These are FABRIC curtains that are thick, soft to the touch, and have a heavy hang. And again, the 100% blackout is one of the best. I did have to return a pair due to a stain on one of them. I got these with the primary aim of cutting down on the draft from the sliding door in a bedroom. I haven't had a chance to test that just yet, but I have high hopes! These are so thick--two solid layers--and closing them genuinely makes the room look like midnight in the middle of the afternoon. All three pictures were taken seconds apart in indirect sunlight in mid afternoon. I'm afraid if I fell asleep in here I might be out for a week! So far very much delivering on my expectations, and I'll update my review on the insulating qualities once the temperature drops again! ... show more

I got white with a black liner. It fully blocks sunlight. My dog no longer barks when he hears dogs walking down the sidewalk. So much better than two other brands I have tried with no liner.

These are really great for those who really want to darken a room. They are very effective and block most of the light. I just threw them in the dryer for a bit and the wrinkles came right out. They are heavy (which is great for the purpose), so I would recommend a very sturdy curtain rod.

White blackout curtains are the hardest to find. In our other bedrooms I went with gray since the darker the color, the more light is muted. With the black lining on these curtains, it allows the daylight to only come through the top and sides (our curtain rod is about 6 inches from the wall since we have privacy lace curtains up too). You cannot see the black fabric through the white at all - unless you look very closely at the top seam where it’s hung on the rod. Highly recommend. They are wrinkled from shipping but overtime I’m sure they will go away. I’m not worried about the wrinkles as it’s more important for the blackout piece. We also did not notice any chemical smell - they seemed fine to me. ... show more
