    • If you’re gonna test it, take your shoes off.
I had a friend set this up for me and had almost returned it because we couldn’t get it to ‘work’ right. It took about two days because I kept self testing it and never felt a shock or anything (I don’t have the actual kind of tester). Finally we realized I was wearing rubber shoes.     • Not enough shock to deter armadillos.
I got a refund and bought a fence master. Not one hole in my yard from armadillos. There may not be one in the whole town. It does the job. 30x more powerful than this one but costs 2.5x more $360 vs $100.

Weather proof, solid and easy mount and most of all decent price. The shock and voltage is good. I think its around 8000 volts but my tester only goes to 7000. I think its made in New Zealand and not China which is a huge bonus.

This is an excellent fence charger, it works as designed to do and will alert you if there is a short in the wiring by a clicking sound near the short. The flashing red light indicator lets you know that it is active. I gave it a four star due to the design of the outer shell, which is designed to fit over an iron fence post with no place to attach any other method of hanging it on a wall, post or fence. ... show more
