  • Do not buy patriot viper ddr4 if you have a new amd processor!
Size: 8GB (2x4GB) 3000MHz
So I ordered DDR4 patriot Viper 2x4gb 3000mhz. It arraive on time , I installed it into my brand new pc build. The computer boots fine fund out that its a 2133mhz so attempt to overclock to the 3000mhz as it claims it is and gets random shutdown errors due to memory not being able to be read. Contact seller they take no responsibility for anything direct me straight patriot. So I contact patriot and they tell me their RAM has issues with amd processors and amd is dragging their feet on putting out a update to be compatible. Yet on the box and description it claims its compatibility. So now patriot gives me a list of things to check. I run through the whole list and still no improvements. So I bought a 3000mhz DDR4 thinking this would hold me over until I get more RAM and improve my system even more and I cant even get the dang thing to run at its claimed mhz without it crashing my computer. If I wanted a 2800mhz DDR4 RAM I would of bought it for a cheaper price not 3000mhz and get it unstable at claimed mhz. Also they are doing nothing to improve my situation. Just giving me list to gi through knowing it wont work.Nothing basically saying sorry we know its a issue but no fix and you are stuck with the product. The company that sold this washed their hands pretty quick of it saying we are only a reseller. So dont expect anything from them. So know I am screw and have to spend more money on a different DDR4 RAM that does work with my set up. If I knew this earlier I would of spent money on something that would have work as described. Not happy at all with either company. Will post if they even attempt to make this right. ... show more

  • Runs at 3200 MHz with a Ryzen 5 2400g processor
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) 3200Mhz
I bought these specifically for my new Ryzen 5 2400g processor in a ASRock AB350 gaming ITX/ac motherboard. I am very pleased they easily overclocked to the rated 3200 MHz speed, as advertised. RAM speed is really important with the new AMD APUs, if you plan to use the integrated GPUs. Reading other reviews from other brands show exactly how difficult it is to achieve these high RAM speeds. I was also able to post at 3333 MHz, but this gives me instability issues. I may try tweaking the voltages to see if I can squeeze a little more out of them, but overall I feel lucky to get what most others have not been able to do. Edit: I am happily able to get these to run stably at 3333 MHz, although I had to reduce the timings by a notch. I ran memtest86 for 7 hours with no errors. Here are my parameters: DRAM = 1.35v, SOC = 1.25v, Timings = 18/19/19/38 ... show more

  • 3733MHz not as advertised & would not even boot at anythig above 3400MHz.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) 3733Mhz
Listed as XPM 3733 at 17-19-19-39. Actual XMP was 3733 at 17-21-21-41. Apparently they originally used Samsung B-die. But now shipping with Hynix dies, but the proper timings not listed ANYWHERE. I would of actually been ok with that, dispite the "bait and switch", had it actually worked at 3733MHz. Sadly it does not on my new ASRock Z390 Taichi Utimate.I would not even boot at anything above 3500MHz. At 340MHz it booted into windows but BOSDed when running a benchmark. At 3300 it booted and finished the benchmark, but a memory error popped-up as I was shutting down. Two stars because of the price even if you have to down clock it, but not running at advertised speeds, timings and the "bait and switch" make me not want to trust Patriot again or buy their products in the future. Hopefully those buying in 2019 will have better results than I. THose that where able to get kits with Samsung chips, consider yourselves fortunate. ... show more

  • Wont run tested speed/timings on ASUS Prime X470-PRO, Ryzen 5 2600, but still very fast and stable.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) 3733Mhz
This was not on the QVL for my ASUS Prime X470-PRO, but I took a chance and bought it anyways. It's paired with a Ryzen 5 2600. I was not able to get it to run at the tested speed and timings. The best I could get to was 3466mhz at 16-18-18-36-63 with 1.35 volts. I don't know how these lower timings and speed compare to the rated higher speed with higher timings, but the memory is very fast and rates around 92% on UserBenchmark. I had no issues booting with the memory in the correct slots and it runs very stable with a moderate 3.9ghz cpu overclock. I haven't gamed with it yet, but I'm sure there will be no issues. If anything my old GPU is the bottleneck of my system. I'm just holding out for prices to drop on a new one. ... show more

  • Great RAM for gaming with Ryzen
Size: 8GB (2x4GB) 3000MHz
Works great with my Ryzen 3 2200G/RX 470 system. Have not overclocked them or messed with timings, just enabled XMP and made sure they were in dual channel mode. Also mine came with a black PCB, not green, and the heat spreader looks far less cartoon-y than it does in the pictures. Those were things I was somewhat worried about as I do like to look at my PC, but I wasn't about to spend $20+ extra to get RAM that looks better. And as it turns out that extra $20 would have been for nothing anyway. Patriot was a company I had not been familiar with, but for now, I don't see any reason to not buy Patriot memory. It seems like they have the cheapest 3000MHz DDR4 kit available right now. I will be buying again in the future to fill the rest of my RAM slots. *Edit* After around 4 months one stick failed. I contacted support the next day and was redirected to the RMA department. They sent an email explaining exactly what to do and I sent both sticks off, per the instructions. It took a couple days to get there and they immediately sent out a new kit which took a couple days to get to me. All in all it was a very pleasant RMA experience. I have no complaints and it was resolved quicker than I thought it would be. Definitely look into getting yourself a kit if you're in the market, they seem to look out for the customer, and not just the dollar signs. ... show more

  • 3333 Mhz easily on AMD Ryzen systems
On my AMD Ryzen 2600x system with an ASRock AB350 Gaming-ITX/AC motherboard (4.60 BIOS), I was able to set to 3333 Mhz with the XMP profile and everything else at Auto without any issues. Didn't have to set CPU or RAM timings either. I have been running this setup for almost a month now and the RAM has been stable with no system crashes in the latest games like Call of Duty WW2. I have been burned in the past with unstable RAM in various motherboards, but this is a great match if you want to go the Ryzen route and use ASRock's board. ... show more
