  • Will not run at 1866 with 32GB
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
The shipping and quality of the packaging was excellent. When Contacting Tech Support they replied and answered my questions. I should have asked my questionns before purchasing. I was to excited to get 32 gb of ram at 1866. I use a Gygabite board with a FX8350 processor. I installed both sets of 16GB that I purchased because my plan was to run 32GB at 1866. I installed all 32 gb and my computer booted perfectly no problem, except I was running at 1600. Then I rebooted and entered the Bios. I set XPM and rebooted to a boot failure. I watched a ton of videos and learned what I could about setting manually instead of using xmp and boot failure each time. So, I reset my bios to optimized default and rebooted. As it turns out I would need DDR4 ram with a new motherboard and ryzen processor if I ever wated to run 32GB with a minium 1866. I found this out after contacting Gygabite support. They told me the only way to run 1866 is with 16 gb and no more. they said 1 8gb stick in one channel and 1 8 gb stick in the other channel. Then I could enable xmp. but never with 4 sticks or 2 sticks in the same channel set. So, in short I am running all 32Gb but at 1600. My board is a GB-970A-DS3p-FX. My Processor is a FX8350 8 core, 8 thread, 4.3 Ghz. ... show more

  • Great for gamers
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
RAM is complicated. Here's what you need to know: if you have an older processor like me that can't use DDR4 RAM, this DDR3 RAM is the fastest I have found at a reasonable price. I was able to overclock it beyond what they advertise, with good timings, meaning this RAM is great bang for your buck. I'm upgrading from a measly 8 GB of RAM that just wasn't cutting it with today's games. Before, I had stuttering issues and some games even prevented me from maxing out the settings. That's all fixed now. My computer is much more stable now and can run all of its pesky background tasks while I game without too much hassle. As a gamer, I recommend this RAM. ... show more

  • This RAM brought life back into my parents really old computer.
Size: 8GB (2x4GB) Kit 1600MHz CL9
This RAM brought life back into my mom's 8 year old computer. I built this low-end system back in 2010. It is an AM3 system with an Athlon II X2 CPU. The original OS was Windows 7. I had originally installed 4GBs of RAM on it. Like all Windows PCs, they bloat up and slow down over time. Then the unfortunate upgrade of Windows 10 came along, and RAM dependency of Windows and software increased exponentially over time. I think one of the biggest kickers was some of the patches Microsoft pushed through in January 2018 (Specter patch?) slowed things down the most. Long story short, 4GB of RAM was no longer enough and the computer turned into a hog. Fast forward, Using Task Manager, I figured I needed to do two upgrades. The RAM the first and easiest upgrade. Amazon delivered within hours of when I ordered! And luckily I was visiting my mom's house when it came. In 15min, I unplugged her computer, opened up the tower and popped these two DIMMs onto the motherboard. Closed it up. Plugged the wires back in. Started it up. BOOM! Computer went from 4GB of RAM to now 12GB of RAM. I went into some of the programs and websites she goes into and everything worked like a charm: Huge improvement! It is like a new computer. Can't wait see what she thinks of the next upgrade when I do it. Edit: I saw some people complaining that this isn't working on their AMD systems - My only comments are: (1) Check the Motherboard manufacturer (2) If you are mixing 2 different type of RAM chips together, manually set the timing and speed of the RAM (via BIOS) to the lower-speced set of RAM. (3) The Motherboard I Installed this on has a AMD 785G Chipset and AMD SB710 South Bridge. ... show more

  • If you are a gamer, buy this immediately
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
If you plan on playing any type of modern AAA game, you ABSOLUTELY need 16gb of RAM. Most modern games need at least 12 GB to run without any stuttering or slowdowns. I use to have 8gb of RAM which would leave my gameplay stuttering and nearly impossible to play. Now, I am free from any type of slow downs and stuttering. I also noticed that surfing the web runs smoother and I am able to run multiple tabs which includes live streams, music, games, etc. If you are on the fence or plan on building a new computer, do not hesitate and buy 16gb of RAM. I can fully recommend this product as it works as intended and fixed all my gameplay issues plus more! ... show more

  • Very nice upgrade from 16-32GBs
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1600MHz CL9
We purchased 2 sets of 2x8GB Viper III DDR3 1600MHz for our AMD FX-8350/Asus motherboard; this was sold by Highly Anticipated Electronics, fulfilled by Amazon.com. This model/make of RAM appears to be the equal of many quality brands we've used over the past 20+ years and in two months of operation, we have no regrets.. To be sure, we wanted to make the jump from 16 to 32GB for some time, but waited for a sale to come along. Since the trend is afoot to be rid of the DDR3 platform, we felt the time was now or never. The PC flies at warp speed as expected so if you've been sitting on the fence, go ahead, make your day and treat yourself to all the tabs and programs you care to have running at once (gamers, YMMV). Have loaded the machine down with video/blu-ray rendering, many tracks of music production work, digital photography layers, with browser and email going at the same time. Very nice upgrade from 16-32GBs. very-very nice indeed. At times we've forgotten exactly how many were running until the system was shutdown at the end of the day. Have owned other Patriot ram in the past, so recommend this Patriot product and the life-time guaranty whole-heatedly. This is our personal opinion of this memory purchase; we received no goodies, freebies or compensation of any sort and hope the review helps other Amazonians in their wise purchase decisions. ... show more
