This island is so easy to put up, and I love the design and the gray color I've chosen. I did little modifications that I put Mable vinyl on top to cover the stainless top. The stainless has little dent on the corner when it arrived, which is not a big noice. But I still like the white marble vinyl, it's now easy to clean than stainless. The stainless top often leave finger prints or marks like the fridge. So that's the only reason I changed to vinyl. Overall, I like the island. ... show more

I expected a lot more for the price. It was difficult to assemble and the fasteners were hard to install without breaking the material they were going into. It was also very difficult To get the drawers and the doors on the cabinets working correctly. They were crooked and the doors needed some work in order to stay in. (The holes were drilled too deep.) When I Contacted the manufacturer they Implied that was my fault and I did not put it together correctly. We took our time and meticulously put it together as per the instructions but still had problems. After a couple of hours working on it and some Good old American ingenuity we got it working decently. We actually had to redrill some holes and fill the holes for the doors part way so they weren't so deep and the hardware was falling out. My recommendation is do not buy A product like this without seeing it. It's a nice looking unit and will function decently but for a $1000 I would expect more. I think a little bit of quality control in the factory would do wonders. ... show more

The piece is beautiful, but what a pain I. The ass to put together. One of the drawer slides came with rust on it. The backing piece of wood was warped, so it made it difficult to line up. Some holes were not lining up in order to allow the screw to travel through. The dowels were all loose and would fall out while assembling. The piece that was was supposed to be place in the hole so that the crew could be threaded would move as you were trying to thread them. The worst headache to put together. For $1000, what crap. I’ve bought furniture it IKEA that was easier to put together, and is still in good condition after almost 20 years! I’m keeping the item, too much a pain to return or take back apart. Love this piece. It’s sturdy and looks great. I am reducing stars bc even a card board cracker box will scratch the top. We basically can’t use the top for anything. We have had ours about a month and the top looks terrible. That is not what I expected from stainless steel.
