  • A truly good value
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
I really liked the ease of installation. I plugged them in and they worked without a problem. They proved stable and reliable when I ran a stress test. Most importantly they made my daughter happy because it made her work a bit easier!

  • Installed it, system sees it, ran tests, no apparent problems.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
My system previously had two 4 GB DIMMs present. I took those out and replaced with four of these 8 GB DIMMs. The system came right up, sees all 32 GB, and runs great. I normally run Windows 10, but I also booted to Linux and ran a memory tester that writes and reads back all 32 GB of memory in many different ways, and found no errors. I ran that twice. So far I am only running this memory at the "default" speed of 1600 Mhz. To get the advertised 1866 Mhz, I would have to go into my BIOS and turn on the overclocking, which I'm not sure I'll do. This is all normal. Memory essentially comes with 2 speed ratings... the default (which typically is a max of 1600 Mhz, but sometimes is much lower, such as 1333) and then potentially a higher speed rating that the manufacturer may have tested / certified. This memory defaults to 1600 and manufacturer says is good at 1866 as well. ... show more

  • Works as advertised.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
Ordered this to replace my old Corsair 1333mhz kit that I've had forever and lately had been dying to get rid of. This Patriot kit is noticeably faster; I could immediately tell the difference in a variety of tasks (gaming, video streaming, etc.) Even just doing something as mundane as dragging a window across the desktop or closing out of a game is noticeably smoother. One major benefit is that Patriot has a very high compatibility with motherboards in general; so if you have a DDR3 board, the Viper line is pretty much guaranteed to work with it. As a sidenote, some people will tell you that memory bandwidth doesn't make much of a difference, and I will tell you that's false. It largely depends on what you're doing and how low you were to start with, as there are diminishing returns the higher and higher you go. If you're at something like 1333mhz, jumping up to 1866mhz or more is a sizeable boost in bandwidth and will provide an immediate benefit to almost everything you do on your machine, especially if your CPU is overclocked. It can also provide a few more fps in many games as well (especially at higher resolutions where bandwidth becomes more important), if that's your thing. All in all, this Patriot RAM is pretty good stuff and I don't think you'll be disappointed. ... show more

  • Just what my PC needed.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
This DDR3 RAM works like a charm. Fit perfectly in my computer. Well made.

  • Decent RAM that works like it should.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
OK Ram, not going to wow you with benchmarks, but since it's mostly on the lower end of the price range it is a very good value for the money. It certainly has a quality look to it, but I'd say it's just middle of the road RAM wrapped up in a nice suit, for a very good price. Pro's: Looks good Doesn't cost any more than 'naked' sticks. Con's: Not much improvement over the 'naked' sticks I tested it against cooling fins on this taller set could interfere with some CPU coolers. Recommended, but if you want benchmarks I've had better luck with Corsair Vengeance, or G.SKILL Ripjaws for similar or slightly more money ... show more

  • It’s good quality DDR3 RAM
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1600MHz CL9
I have an ancient X58 based Core i7-980x that I wanted to bump to 48GB of ram (6x8GB) as the Gulftown memory controller is rated for 48GB. Three of these kits did the trick perfectly and run very well at the built in 1600 timings. I noted about a 4% memory performance improvement versus the circa 2010 4GB DDR3-1600 DIMMs that were original to when I built the machine, which is surprising. Granted, this is now an obsolete memory standard, but if you need quality, relatively performant RAM for a DDR3 system, I don’t think you can do much better. ... show more

  • Patriot 16GB(2x8GB) Viper III DDR3 - Best performance/dollar DDR3 memory
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1600MHz CL9
This Patriot kit is not only reliable, but performs at or above specifications. It is as easy to install as any DDR3 modules would be. The only thing you may want to double check before purchasing is the modules installed height and any blockages that may be present over your motherboard DDR3 memory slots. Other than that, the modules look good, and perform at specifications. There are also guides on overclocking results for this model online for reference. ... show more

  • A noticeable POP in speed! Pricing a bit steep at $67.99 (1600 is 7+ years old as-of 2021)
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1600MHz CL9
I used this to upgrade an 8+ year-old PC from 8GB to 16GB, running Windows 10. NICE and noticeable bump in performance, not only from the perspective of the added RAM capacity, but also the CL9 latency was a 28.5% speed improvement over the CL12 of the previous RAM. My SSD 'felt faster' due to improved caching via Samsung Magician "Rapid Mode", and everything was just better. I am a bit of power user, even if I'm running an 8yo PC. 24+ hours in, system has been perfectly stable, no issues with RAM. Patriot is a brand I trust, based on prior experience with their products. Features Rating info: Easy to install - 5 stars, but I'm an experienced PC tech. Doing this yourself is easy enough, if you know about things like static electricity, dust, and 'other'. If you don't know how to upgrade RAM, find some YouTube videos about it. For gaming - Yes, I am a gamer. Things will run faster because of the extra RAM. For FUN, I did create a RAMDISK (4 GB), and loaded the notoriously slow (beautiful otherwise) game GOTHIC 3 (2006) onto the RAMDISK. Teleporting, and other things were SUPER FAST AND SMOOTH!! Value for money - 2 stars might be generous. PC3-12800 RAM is somewhat outdated, especially for gaming PCs. It should not be priced where it is right now ($67.99), and really should be down around the $39.99/$49.99 price point. I probably should've bought faster DDR3 RAM, used it for now, then moved it to a semi-newer PC in the future. Personal note: I AM due for a new PC, just been holding off, just a bit too long due to Covid-19. Stay healthy, folks! ... show more
