I was highly recommended this collar by a close friend for training my dog off leash and I pass that recommendation on to you. This training collar works very well and I like that it has both a beep and vibrate option. It also has a shock that can be set from 1-16. I set it to 4 and tried it on my own throat, it doesn’t hurt, it’s just enough to get the dog’s attention in the event the other two do not work. You can also chose to not use the shock at all and unscrew the metal probes entirely from the collar. I have used it almost every day for two months and haven’t had to charged it since I first opened it.

I've tried other collars and barking devices to train my dogs in the past, but this unit was the most effective. It has several levels that can be utilized to get the attention of your dog without causing the dog any pain. This was an excellent purchase it started to work immediately and is easy to use.

I’ve purchased two of these now. I always thought they are a cruel thing to have till I tried this one. The beeping alone gets them under control, the other features are not harmful, just alarming enough for the dog. Long battery life, super simple to use.

My Brittany mix was good with recall about 85% of the time, and then there would be those moments when her stubborn side came out and she thought it was way more fun to taunt me with keep away. This happened sometimes in potentially dangerous environments and there were also moments when I or someone from my family spent more than 45 minutes trying to get her to come inside or get in a car. Enter the PatPet collar. Following extensive research, I decided to give an electric collar a try. We have now had it over a year and it has revolutionized what I can do with my dog and has majorly decreased my stress level. My pup understand the collar within about 30 minutes of training with it. To be clear, the beep was enough to make her come running following the training, and I used vibrate maybe two times, just for exposure. We have NEVER used the shock. My dog now associates the collar and remote with running free outside, and any time I take it out she goes absolutely wild with excitement. She fully understands what she needs to do and the use of the e-collar has changed the nature of our relationship and resulted in her perfect listening skills. To be clear, she gets a vibrate maybe once per month, despite using the collar 4-5 times/week, and again, she has never been shocked. I would say we beep maybe 1-2 times/week. Otherwise, just taking the remote out of your pocket after calling her name is enough for her to come happily running over. The collar is exceedingly durable. My water dog has spent upwards of two hours in the water before with her collar on, with zero impacts. I used to train service dogs and have previously only used positive reinforcement with my dogs. We figured out a way to train the collar in a less punitive way and it has resulted in my dog being happier and more eager to please than ever before.

We purchased this dog training collar for our 25 lb mini golden doodle. It seemed to work great for the first two months but then the receiver on the collar just stopped working. Yes, we made sure numerous times that the collar and remote are charged. The collar initially shows a green light and then starts blinking red. Terrible value for the money if it’s only going to work for such a short period of time. Of course the return window was only a month and has passed.

We love this and have bought multiple bc I keep losing parts. My dog has only had to be shocked once or twice. He usually only has to have the sound and he comes right back, if anything at all, but vibrate is good too.

Update 90 days later: lowered to three stars instead of four, however this is still a decent collar, but there's a slight design flaw. The on/off switch is on the inside of the power unit so that it presses against the dog's neck and will occasionally turn off because it doesn't take much pressure to turn the switch off. Other reviewers have talked about the unit stopped working, and I'm inclined to think it's because the on/off switch was inadvertently turned off by the dog maybe playing around with another dog. It's not worked 4 different times for me and three times it was because the switch had been turned off and once because it was out of power. I can also confirm that the collar is waterproof as advertised as long as the rubber cover is over the charging port. My dog got out, went to play in the canals, was soaking wet and the collar still worked. Bought this looking for a lightweight device with reasonable distance ~ 3000 ft over flat land. This looked like it might fit the bill. It's lightweight all I need is the beep and the buzzer. I don't need the shock feature and previously I have used pet trainer brand that work great except it was really heavy My dog's only 45 lb. I can see what people might have a problem with the shock on this because you have to add sort of a u/v shaped aluminum extender to the prongs that actually touch the dog. When I looked at it, it looked like something you would put on the wall to tie the excess cord up from a blind or a rope but no it's supposed to shock the dog. It's the first time I've ever seen anything like that and it seems kind of weird. And I believe it might explain why people have problems with the shock part of this collar. So far the beep and the buzz works just fine The distance is reasonable, I'm still checking the battery life if it's bad or the distance is not true I'll come back and update my review with the three star instead of four. If you're looking for the shock feature I would stay away from this and try one that doesn't require some sort of weird shock extender device
