  • A lifesaver for caregivers
My son has ALS. He had been holding his own, going from his bed to his chair or his bed to a wheelchair using his rolling walker. Then, suddenly, his condition took a nosedive, leaving him with no strength in his legs and little upper-body strength. He was unable even to get on or off the bedside toilet. My husband, who has a heart condition, is unable to help me transfer our son anywhere. So I ordered this chair lift, out of desperation. Wow! What a differnce it made in our lives! The lift wasn't difficult to assemble--no more than any other piece of equipment, at least. And so easy for one person to use, sturdy and mobile, even on medium pile carpet. (Keep in mind, though, that my son has lost down to 160 pounds, so transporting a larger person may be more difficult.) The base width can be adjusted for smaller doorways, too. With it, I am able to carry my son anywhere in the house, safely and relatively quickly. We thought this would be another piece of equipment that ended up in the spare room. No. Thank goodness we ordered it. ... show more

  • Works great for numerous transfers
This unit has been a life saver allowing for easy movement and transfer to chair, car, or what ever need you have. It has also been a real back saver for me. The unit is very well constructed and easy to move around unlike other well know patient lifts. Had some minor issues and customer service has been fantastic with responses coming within hours of my questions. Highly rec if the need to for caring for a loved one arises. ... show more

  • Love it *updated!!! Broken!!!*
My health issues don't allow me to get up like I should. This is extremely helped, no more hernias for the care team. Study too, tips if not manned property. Pulling over tiny threshold is the easiest and safest way to transfer. *updated* the bar has bent, the welding had split under minimum weight. (Manufacturing defect maybe? ) No way to contact company for the 1 year warranty. We are well within the year warranty as well. So much money was spent on this equipment. Bad purchase. Submit pictures later. ... show more

  • Good product but it takes time to learn how to use it.
The product seems to be sturdy and efficient. Unfortunately it takes time to learn how to use it. I bought it for my aunt who is disabled but the people who take care of her did not put effort on the learning part. The assembly was no so complicated. I don’t want to give a bad review because this is personal experience. If the caregiver is smart enough to give the device the chance it will be a great help. ... show more

  • Might be good for someone
With ideal physical environment and ideal patient cooperation this may be a good product. It does not move smoothly on even low pile carpet and requires manual assistance to move the casters in the right direction before rolling. On tile or hardwood floors would work best. I had a hard plastic cover (used under rolling desk chairs) and it moved well. The time required to get someone into the device is more than I thought. Cumbersome to move person on and off seat. Ok from a bed but not so from a chair. Person has to be able to stand and do some degree of weight bearing or have another person to physically assist to move the lift seat under the person. The solid seat is very firm and not comfortable to sit on for an extended time. The lift seat used for the toilet is more flexible and would not be uncomfortable for the person to sit on for an extended time in a chair. The open seat is not helpful with toilet seat or bedside commode because the person has to do some degree of weight bearing to pull pants up/down and sit back once again on the seat. For some people this device might be ok for them, but before you purchase consider how to use it step by step with your person and consider how the person will accept it, and also consider if only one person is needed to help or two. The person would require some functional mobility or if not then 2 people would be required to functionally use it. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and dissasemble
My wife weighs 250 lbs. so I was skeptical of this lift. she was in a care rehab center, and I had no way to bring her home. I purchased this lift being hopeful it would work. The therapists were impressed with the ease of use. I received the lift Friday afternoon, Monday morning we went to DQ for an ice cream and then HOME. Getting the seat under her is the only issue but with a little fore thought, it was easy enough. It lifts her out of her wheelchair and into the car, or onto the toilet. I couldn't ask for more. ... show more

  • Works great!
Easy to assemble and very sturdy. We bought this for my father in law who recently broke his leg and his opposite hip. He is in rehab now so we took this chair to learn how to move him. The hospital loved this chair and is recommending it to other patients. Amazing how easy this compared to other solutions. Seller has been great when I had questions. ... show more
