  • Absolutely Recommended as a Cheaper Cintiq Alternative
As someone who has purchased a monitorless Wacom tablet before, I have been wanting and on the lookout for cheaper alternatives for monitor tablets ever since I've been doing digital art. I was a bit skeptical when I saw this and when reading reviews on the tablet without the wool bag, however, it's extremely easy for me to say that this tablet is quite nice. The HDSetup MUST be installed before the Display, and then restart the computer. Thereafter you can set your calibration, and I recommend using the tablet as an extended screen rather than duplicate, so choose "Monitor 2" in the mapping tab for tablet options. PAINT TOOL SAI ON EXTENDED SCREEN The stylus acted a little wonky for this program, but the fix was simple. 1. Right click the Paint Tool Sai icon and choose "Properties" 2. Under "Compatability", check the box "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" 3. Click "Apply" and then "OK", and the cursor should match up with your stylus' location PROS +Light and sturdy +Colors matchup +Sturdy tablet and stylus bag +Pretty much the cheapest monitor tablet available right now +Pen is light Cons -Calibration can be annoying sometimes -Delay when using pen's buttons (unaware of a fix right now) Overall I really recommend this tablet, the quality is nice and its fun to use! ... show more

  • Great hobby tablet if you're willing to go through a lot of trial-and-error installation.
I intend to update this as time goes on, but initial thoughts: it works well enough for what you pay for. It arrived within 2 days with the free shipping and the seller actually messaged me first a few hours after with some tips. It was hard to set up even with all the reviews and guides and required a lot of testing, reinstalling, and rebooting. I still cannot get the calibration tool to work properly, however, it seems to function well enough under these settings on Windows 10: both screens set to 125%, the tablet cannot be higher than the lowest level of the laptop, tablet cannot be the primary, laptop cannot be shut (very sad about that), the tablet must be plugged in prior to powering on my laptop, tablet must be plugged into my strongest usb ports. The image is simultaneously both saturated and dull and it's not as bright as I'd like. The cursor is slightly offset, which I imagine I will get used to in time. The screen protector was really hard to set, but the bubbles don't actually seem to cause an issue. Onto the good things: I am very pleased with the pressure sensitivity. It is definitely an upgrade to my old wacom non-monitor tablet. Portability is great. I love all the little gifts included, especially the carrying case. If you want it as a secondary for travel or if you're a hobbyist on a budget, this should work for you. Of course, it still is new, so if something happens I'll be updating my review. Update 4 months later: still going strong. No complaints. ... show more

  • Great tablet if you care about portability, small size, and cost
First of all, I love the Parblo Coast10. Its portability and small size have literally changed my life. Every day, I work in two locations, my studio and at home, and I can easily carry my Parblo Coast10 between both places in the same backpack I use for my laptop. For years, I used a 12" Wacom Cintiq, which is technically portable, too – I've definitely transported it from place to place – but it has four cables and some kind of box thing (I don't know what it's called), as well as other stuff. It requires its own backpack, separate from my laptop's, and I have to make sure to remember to pack all of its pieces. But my Cintiq it is dying, so last month I started looking for a replacement (my Cintiq is old; it was time). I've mentioned that I love the Parblo Coast10's portability, but I haven't yet mentioned its low cost. The Parblo Coast10 costs about a third of a new Cintiq (the 13"), maybe even less (I opted for the warranty plan, so I did end up paying about a third). Don't get me wrong. I love my Cintiq, and in lots of ways it's better than the Parblo Coast10, but if you care about portability, size, and cost, you might want to consider the Parblo Coast10. FYI: I use a Mac. Pros >Portability >Size (I'm an illustrator. If I were a fine artist, I might want a larger tablet.) >Cost >Feet for raising the tablet. There are two levels. I tend to work flat on the table, but I've begun to use the lower-level feet on my Parblo Coast10. One competitor tablet doesn't lay flat at all, which ruled it out for me. >Good customer service >I can pull the Parblo Coast10's USB cable out of the computer before shutting the computer down. The Cintiq doesn't let me do this. >Calibration for the stylus's tip position onscreen is easy and good >The Parblo Coast10 comes with a glove. I'd never used a glove with a tablet before but have found that I love it! My hand is small, so I ended up buying another glove to use instead. Here's a link to the glove I chose, which is perfect for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CX0AIUG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 >The stylus is thin, which I like. I mention this because others may not like it (so many pens and styluses are thick these days). >The Parblo comes with a screen protector that the owner has to install. I hate installing those things, and mine, once on, was a field of bubbles. BUT, rather than buy a new screen protector and risk a new round of bubbles, I purchased a sheet of .003 acetate (very cheap!), cut a protector from that, and taped it to the tablet on the left-hand side. I can turn over the acetate like the page of a book, which allows me to paint/draw on the Parblo Coast10's glass directly if I want (which is how I use the Cintiq). >I like the Parblo Coast10 cases for the device and stylus. Cons >The Parblo Coast10 can't be used with a Wacom driver installed. I wish I could use both tablets on the same computer. >Photoshop doesn't work perfectly with the Parblo Coast10. For example, the straight-edge lasso tool doesn't work well, and sometimes I need to close and reopen Photoshop files for them to work properly on the Parblo Coast10. >Also, and more important for me, some of Photoshop's brush strokes look different on the Parblo Coast10 than on the Cintiq. At first, this completely freaked me out, but I've since created Parblo-specific and Cintiq-specific brushes, so sometimes I use different brushes to create strokes that look the same, depending on the tablet I'm using. (Until it dies for good, I can still use the Cintiq on a different laptop.) >The Parblo Coast10's driver doesn't always see the device. I'm often able to use the Parblo Coast10 but not change its settings because I've gotten a "NoDevice" error. >As for the driver settings, not everything offered functions. For example, I can set double-click for the stylus's button but nothing else, even though other options are listed. >Color isn't great. For color, I rely on printouts and my laptop monitor. I'm writing a lengthy review, because the customer service representative I've been in touch with told me that reviews are helpful for their developers. ... show more

  • Find something else
Bought this when it was around $300 and it's pretty bad. I use Clip Studio Paint and this tablet does not work well with it. If I get the calibration on the pen to the desktop right, the calibration becomes significantly inaccurate when I use Clip Studio. For example, the tip of the pen is on one spot of the tablet but the mouse pointer is several centimeters away from said spot. Even when I adjust the pen calibration to match Clip Studio, it only applies to the area I'm drawing on and anything outside of that is still a couple centimeters away from where the tip of the pen is. Also the colors on the tablet differ from the colors on the monitor. The colors that the tablet displays are more saturated, so you aren't going to get the colors you want unless you keep switching in-between the tablet and the monitor. I tried just mirroring the monitor to the tablet but, for some reason, it doesn't work. I even re-downloaded the drivers and the display link program to no avail. I suggest finding something else. ... show more
