  • Does the job, I am satisfied with the purchase and would buy again.
Style: b.1200lb Capacity
This rack had the position of the two tier frame that I was looking for without spending a lot more since the dumbbells get used for an hour each day then they spend the rest of the day on a rack. Favoring more time in storage than use each day, I didn’t want to invest a large amount of money simply on a dumbbell rack. The box arrived mostly intact only a few gouges but everything inside was complete, one leg had several scratches but each piece was wrapped in plastic that was still fully covering each piece. 16 bolts in total all the same size so since this design is simple, that made assembly very easy, you don’t need the instruction photo to figure this one out. All bolts were fastened using an allen wrench (that was not supplied but hopefully anyone expecting to assemble something owns tools at home, but if you don’t just be prepared to source one before you begin) and a socket wrench. The process took under 20 minutes to complete. As some people mentioned the shape of the rails makes for a tight grab in lower weight dumbbells. I experienced this on the cast dumbbells that I have but they are in 10, 15, and 25lbs so not difficult to pick up despite the lack of height from rail to handle. The remaining sets are rubber dumbbells and they all work fine with spacing regarding height from rail to handle. I use traditional hex and round head dumbbells of various brands and they fit without issue. They stay in place and line up easily. I use the top row to hold 10,15,20,25,30,40 lb sets and on the bottom row I only have 50,60,70 lb sets. The rack is sturdy and holds these dumbbells without issue. Which is important to note because for the price people may wonder like I did if this is up to the task or not when comparison shopping prior to purchase. As far as rail alignment, it is good, nothing wrong with the seams connecting one rail to the next on the middle support leg in a way to allow for use. As some mentioned in previous reviews the rails don’t line up exactly but you must look up close for it to really tell and it has zero impact on the functionality of the racks job of holding the dumbbells. So when I was looking at this rack I went back and forth for several days before deciding. Outlined below are several reasons as to why, and my experience with this product. -First of course was looking at other buyers review photos of damage showing packaging almost torn open and rails with bent edges that didn’t make it from delivery to home. Obviously I didn’t want to deal with any of that and fortunately in my case I didn’t which I was thankful for because that was the biggest hurdle to deciding to proceed. -Next was overall quality. In my search for a rack, having a staggered tier set up for the lower row extending out beyond the upper row was what I wanted. I didn’t want to be spending commercial gym prices for this type of set up if I didn’t have to just to store dumbbells for 23hrs of the day after one hour of my use because I could spend the savings elsewhere. -I wanted a rack that did its job and was easy to use which this certainly accomplishes for my use and needs. The space issue between rail and handle height on my dumbbells as mentioned only involves the cast ones which are 10,15,25lb sets all others are rubber hex or round and have no issues at all with grabbing off the rack. -Finally strength of the rack mattered to me as the lower tier was going to need to support heavy sets of dumbbells, in my situation that only involves 50,60,70 lb sets and this rack easily does the job I cannot say what adding additional weight to that tier would do but for me and my needs it works just fine. This is the first review I’ve written after years of amazon buys and the only reason I wrote it was based on reading reviews and seeing certain photos of this rack causing me some initial hesitation trying to decide if it would be worth it to deal with possible packaging issues on arrival possible damaged parts and possible quality issues as raised by some reviews because I am sure for those buyers who experienced that, they were left feeling regret. In my case, the example of this rack I received was without damage which I was thankful for. At it’s price it’s a no brainer option for holding dumbbells which is what a rack is supposed to do. So if you have the need for a rack like this I would say from my own experience with this particular item to go ahead and buy one. ... show more

  • Update 6-9-2023
Style: b.1200lb Capacity
UPDATE! The seller contacted me to let me know they refunded my money. They didn't have to do that because I decided to keep the rack purely because it would be such a pain to have to ship it back. That's pretty solid of them. So if you're in the market for a rack and you can live with some design flaws- this rack will work and is cheap. On a positive note, although the metal is thin, I believe this rack would hold 5-100 lb dumbbells and still be safe and secure. It's also good to know that if it comes and isn't right, they will make it right. Original review- Shipping was quick but it arrived with a gaping hole in the box. I took everything out and while it was all there, two of the shelves are bent and have deep gouges in the metal. the metal is also maybe 18 gauge thick sheet metal. It's flimsy and light. The design is a miss as well because the shelves are so shallow in depth that you pinch your fingers putting the DB's back on the shelf. Not happy and I'm probably going to return ... show more

  • Not ideal for very heavy dumbbells
Style: b.1200lb Capacity
The media could not be loaded. I’ll start by saying I think this rack will work for most people. The problem I have is I bought this rack for very heavy dumbbells, all over 100 pounds. The problem is the middle part is not deep enough to provide enough of an edge to keep the heavy dumbbell from not slipping backward if you apply pressure on the outward portion of the dumbbell. This is a problem for me because I have a 3 year old who thinks my home gym is a jungle gym and I’m worried by climbing on the dumbbells he could pull one off on accident and it would crush him. ... show more

  • Works well, but has a minor design flaw
Style: a.600lb Capacity
Overall, I'm pleased with the 36" 600lbs. capacity dumbbell racks. I had originally purchased the 72" 1200lbs. single rack but two days later I was contacted by the seller who told me that the item was out of stock and gave no indication when it would be back in stock; therefore, I decided to order two 36" 600lbs. racks. The seller was easy to work with and was very responsive. The two racks arrived in a few days, and they were easily assembled in 10 minutes. I have a total of 800lbs between both racks. 460lbs on one rack, and 340lbs on the other rack. Both racks feel sturdy. I find only one design flaw. I read several reviews before buying these racks and I am surprised no one mentioned the limited space between your hands and the dumbbell handles when you pick-up or replace the dumbbells in the rack. Because of the V-shape trough, the dumbbell handles come very close to the rack. If you have big hands or are using dumbbells that are 25lbs. and less the potential to pinch your hands is very high. The smaller the dumbbell head (as with lighter weights) the closer the handle will come to the rack. I found that dumbbells 35lbs and greater work best with these racks because the head size provides a better amount of space between the dumbbell handle and the rack. I did, however, find a way to increase the space. I put 1/4" thick rubber strips on the racks where the dumbbell heads rest. This provides two benefits: 1) 1/4" more distance between the dumbbell handle and the rack which helps reduce the chance of pinching your fingers. 2) provides some cushion when placing the dumbbells back on the rack; particularly if you're using metal dumbbells that are not rubber coated. ... show more
