Attaches securely to any smooth, flat, non-porous surface. Features an easy-to-use single knob which, controls head movement through 3-planes: 210 Degree Tilt, 360 Turn and 360 Rotation. Fine/coarse adjusting knob controls jaw pressure for delicate work. Grooved jaws are excellent for holding small objects and are made of reinforced thermal composite plastic continuous heat tolerance to 350 F (177 C), intermittent heat up to 450 F (204 C). Jaws are 2" (50.8mm) tall, 1" (25.4mm) wide, and open to 2.875" (73mm). Arm movement is 140; positive indents control movement to prevent flopping and the control knob locks the arm firmly into place. Lever locks vacuum pad into place on any smooth, flat, non-porous surface; lift tab to release vise from surface. Base Diameter: 3.4" (86.4mm), Height: 7.5" (173mm), Weight: 0.8 lbs. (0.4kg).

This was a waste of money. The suction cup does not attach too any surface. Does for a couple of minutes but I go too use it's lost it's suction n falls over. And yes I read the directions and attached too a very "smooth" surface. Even cleaned the surface and suction cup. Let the cleaner dry before trying again. DOESN'T WORK. I would have sent it back but a family emergency came up n didn't get back until the 30 day limit. Do not waste your money ... show more

Bought this for painting miniatures.... too bad it won't stick to any surface. I tried dampening it and it always loses its suction.

    • It's just what I needed
I use this vise for instrument maintenance work that I do at music workshops when I'm away from my shop. It works very well: the suction cup at the bottom holds very very firmly to a smooth table top, and the clamp at the top can be adjusted at many different angles to fit a wide variety of parts. It folds up neatly so I can put it in my toolbox. The plastic is heavy duty and shows no signs of weakening. Obviously it's not meant for heavy duty work like bending metal, but for detail work that requires a lightweight, portable vise that will hold small parts steadily, this does the trick. ... show more

When i first got this vise i was unimpressed. it hardly stuck to anything and even when it did it would fall over on its own over the course of a couple of minutes. but if u add a bit of water to the suction cup it sticks to flat surfaces like a champ! i even had a hard time getting it off of my counter :P but despite how well it can stick to surfaces, its still only for smaller to medium sized projects because the whole arm wiggles a bit no matter how tight u make it. i had gotten this so i could do some filing work on some knives, but the wiggling would be a pain and would eventually screw me up. but it still works very nicely on my electronic projects so it wasn't a complete loss :) ... show more

    • Suction Cup is Worthless
The vise itself is fine. Everything seems to hold well, which is always a concern with this sort of thing. Anyone that's owned the metal helping hands kind of devices knows what I'm talking about. The larger knobs are much better than little wing nuts. That said, the suction base is no good. I really should have gotten one with a fixed base, as I haven't found a surface other than glass that this thing actually sticks to in any useful way. Even on surfaces you'd think it would work with, I've found that it just lets up with any use and pops off the desk. I'll have to find a way to bolt it down. ... show more
