  • Awesome 4k Camcorder!
I'm thrilled with this camcorder! Solid build quality. Long, sharp zoom lens, fast auto focus, great image stabilization, fantastic image quality in daylight and even decent image quality in low light. I think the only negative thing I can say about it is that the menu is not very intuitive to navigate but that's about it. Some of the manual options may be a bit limited but if you are a documentary film maker my guess is that you are probably looking at higher end cameras with larger sensors. I don't think there are any other 4K camcorders at this price point that come close to this one in image quality and features. If you are looking for a 4k camcorder but are on the fence, just buy this one now because you will NOT regret it. This camcorder is awesome! ... show more

  • Great value
I chose this product over the Sony ax53 just because this model came out in 2018, and the Sony came out a couple years before this one. They both are pretty identical, but the Sony comes with the view finder and this model doesn’t but ask yourself how often are you looking through that little lense. All the reviews I watched and read this one just comes out on top. Great video picture and easy to use . I wanted a dedicated home video camera and I can’t wait to start using ... show more

  • ok for it's production date
This product has been out for a few years. Built in audio mic. 4K. Intuitive LCD screen. A little pricey for its production age, in comparison to my cell phone that records in 4K also. Purchased for the extra 2 wireless camera feature you can connect. Haven't figured that out all yet.

  • Wont stay focused. Focused on background constantly. software issues, bad mic port, charger from1981
As titled, will not stay focused on what I am trying to film, focusses on background instead of subject. Also fails to play videos from camera, shows a fault icon instead so no way to play back vid and see if " I got the shot" I was after. Audio is all jacked up. Over emphasizes "S" and other tones even with settings changed and quality aftermarket mic. Takes a proprietary charge cord so don't lose it or you will not be able to charge it, WHY not use USB or USB-C plug like every other modern device? External mic plugs in under the viewfinder so you have to plug it in and out every time you put camera up, if hiking or using outdoors its a pain to not be able to close the screen full, and every time you plug mic in you get a warning you have to clear before using the camera. just bad design. videos are hidden behind like 5 layers of files.... why is this so hard to just one click into video files for export? There are a few things I like... but they are not worth mentioning because the camera wont film what I am looking at so who cares if the SD card is easy to access? I would return if I could, am looking for new camera but seems choices are super cheap no-name junk or the last few remaining mid tier camcorders with similar issues. Looks like cell phones are replacing this market. ... show more

  • It doesn't give a lot of noise when color graded
This camcorder is not the best low light camcorder but selling at such a reasonable price worrth the funds - it doesn't give a lot of noise when color graded

  • Lighting Seems to Always be an Issue
Well, the reviews were correct. This thing has solid features all around, except it handles lighting (in almost all situations) very poorly. In bright light, it drowns out anything in a shadow (even if it's not that much darker), and in low light, the video is so grainy as to be worthless. It's either issues with too much light or issues with not enough. There is not enough variation in light to dark (medium light) to make it a quality picture, especially in 4k. In perfect lighting situations, it does very well, but when is lighting ever perfect in real life? I bought this to replace a 720p Canon from 2007 (with a much smaller sensor), and the Canon produces a more even picture (in terms of light) than this does. And my Galaxy S24 Ultra kills it in 4k video quality (minus the 20x optical Zoom). I am sending it back and going to try the Sony AX43 to see if its any better. I just don't get why these devices aren't updated more regularly. Everything on the market for camcorder 4k is 2018 or before (it's 2024, and smartphones are performing better). ... show more

  • Failed after 100 days
This camcorder performs well outdoors so far. Took it for whales watching from the shore. The optical zoom let me take nice close ups of the whales, resulting in significantly better videos compared to my phone despite its otherwise great optics. However this camcorder doesn't do as well indoors, even with good lighting. It reacts much too aggressively to small variations in the histograms, by rapidly increasing or reducing brightness. The result is footage where brightness changes constantly and very noticeably in otherwise fairly static scenes, which is both annoying and distracting. The colors feel a bit dull as well, compared to my older Sony. My unit failed after 100 days, i.e. just outside the 90 days parts and labor warranty. First the screen started to flicker, then the unit would just freeze solid during power on, and wouldn't power off until the battery was physically removed. Panasonic ended up repairing the unit, by replacing the main board, at no cost besides shipping. Still, not a great experience and a bit concerning given the purchase price! ... show more

  • Really a very good camera.
This camera performs better in low-light conditions than any camera I have used before in the amateur-enthusiast range. Plenty of nice functions. Wish the MP4 mode wasn't so limited, but AVCHD is an okay format anyway.
