  • Great Camera
Style: OLED
I decided to get the Lumix G95 to record my son's football games in 4k. This is my first camera and I quickly found out there's more to just hitting record to get a great shot. Once you understand shutter speed, aperture and iso, you will be taking good quality pictures and 4k videos. The features on this camera stack up fairly well and is priced at a reasonable price compared to others. Any other camera with similar features were 200, 300 even 400 dollars more expensive. So far happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Overlooked and still great in 2025
Style: OLED
I looked at micro 4/3 systems back in 2019 and toyed with moving to this system. Recently I sold my DSLR equipment to move to a mirrorless system and went through the struggle of deciding between Sony, Canon and Nikon when I saw the new pricing on the LUMIX G95. The kit lens 12-60mm is a really great lens add that to the camera itself that is still an advanced system capable of both photo and video. Based on the new price I bought the camera and I'm glad I did. This camera takes great pictures and opened me up to a world of small light lenses that cost less than half the cost of full frame. I was able to pick up several lenses and camera for way less than the other camera bodies I was looking at alone. ... show more

  • A superbly priced excellent Micro 4/3 camera with the wonderful 12-60 zoom lens.
Style: OLED
Let's face it, we all have our opinions about photographic gear, and the good thing about photography is that you never stop learning. Having been a photographer since 1967 (when I was serving in Vietnam), I've come to laugh at those who feel that they must have the latest and greatest gear in order to be successful. This implies - in some minds - that somehow, having an older camera is a waste of time - as if magically, that older gear won't perform properly anymore - which is a ridiculous sentiment, to be sure. I've been using various Micro 43 gear since the inception of that format (migrating from the original four-thirds technology), and since that time, have used 20 different Panasonic and Olympus M4/3 cameras. The G95 series is around 5–6 years old now, and for some folks, would consider this an "ancient" release. And nothing could be further from the truth, as the G95 will remain competitive for quite some time. I personally find it a delight to use, and I'm stoked to learn that you can also get a battery grip for this model (which I just ordered as of this writing), allowing you to extend your shooting time even further. The combination of the G95D and 12-60 F3.5-5.6 zoom lens is netting me some wonderful images - sharp from corner to corner, with excellent color rendering, and ergonomically, the camera is a joy to use. What I find interesting is that in the past, Panasonic's M4/3 cameras tended to have a slightly cooler color tonality overall. With the G95D, I find the color tonality to be warmer now - more in tune with what we get with the Olympus and OMD renderings. I find this a welcomed discovery. As I mentioned, in my opinion, the camera is a joy to hold and the dual IS feature, using the IS from both internal and lens based systems, holds everything rock steady. The camera is fast, and I also love the fact that the SD card slot is on the side of the camera body and not in the bottom well where the battery is inserted. Will I use this camera in very low light scenarios? Not really, because I have always tended to use my collection of various Fujifilm cameras for that because of their larger APS-C sensors. That's not to say that the G95D is not capable of handling lower light scenarios, because it certainly can. It's just that I've become accustomed to using my Fujifilm gear for the higher ISO scenarios above ISO 3200–4000. Getting back to the G95D, it just makes you want to go out and photograph everything you see. It's one of those cameras you want to take everywhere with you. What is also nice about the G95D's sold on Amazon, is that they already have the latest firmware updates (to include the lens). Typically (but not always), new camera purchases tend to have firmware versions that are one or two releases behind, causing the users to have to update their cameras themselves - however, these G95D's are up-to-date. By the way, I forgot to highlight the wonderful Panasonic 12-60 F3.5-5.6 lens. I've now come to own 4 copies of this lens - all being very sharp from edge-to-edge, and that equivalent 24-120 MM reach is ideal for most situations. So folks, at this low price, the Panny G95D is a "no-brainer," and I strongly suggest you get one before they disappear. Looking at the ridiculously high prices of various M4/3 gear being sold nowadays by Olympus, Panasonic, and OMD, the low price of this G95D should be a strong enticement to get one. Even though some of you may own various Full Frame or APS-C based camera systems, obtaining this G95D will still put a smile on your face and as I mentioned above, you'll develop the tendency to want to bring it with you everywhere you go. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great little camera
Style: OLED
I own multiple cameras that are full frame, apsc, mft, and all mirrorless. The size of this camera combined with the quality of pictures it takes and the fun features it provides makes this the camera I reach for when I’m headed out the door for a day and don’t know what I’m going to end up shooting. The picture sizes are fine and the quality is perfect. I’ve not had trouble with the focusing so long as I put the ‘plus’ where I want it to focus. This may be a little slower than the Sony auto acquisition of an eye, but again I’m using it for fun, not a paid fast motion gig. If you’re looking for a nice camera at a great price and a great size, don’t let the micro 4/3 platform scare you It does a great job. ... show more

I love this camera. The video quality is great.

  • Honestly a solid midrange camera
Style: LCD
I used this for kids sports, stills and portraits. The features and performance are very close to the Lumix G9 while still being quite compact. I'd consider this for a hiking/camping camera due to the compact size and low weight. Picture quality is excellent, low light performance is a struggle but that is due to being a micro four thirds sensor. The live composite feature is great to get your exposure right and helps cut down on post processing. The DFD autofocus works well for kids sports in AF-C but burst mode slows down to 6 fps. 4k video recording is OK if you can live with the 2x crop. The G95 is billed as a hybrid camera, it does both but I find that it is better suited for stills. ... show more
