This Panasonic phone system is impressive. Lots of convenient features and clearly superior to an earlier Panasonic phone system that it replaced (mainly because the LCD displays of some of the handsets in the earlier system had failed--hopefully that won't happen with the new sets). I like having the corded handset on my desk because sometimes I need to wait a while in phone queues. The six cordless handsets elsewhere in the house are very convenient, and each can be named so that using the system as an intercom is much easier than on the older system, where you had to remember what number the handset had registered with the base unit. Buying this as a refurbished system saved me money, too. Though it included no manual, that was easily found on Panasonic's website. Because it was refurbished, I know the system was thoroughly tested before being repackaged for sale; brand-new systems are only spotchecked.

This phone set is exactly as described and if you had an office-style phone in the mid-90's, it would look like the main hand set here. The screen is huge and very clear and besides a few dings, these phones work as if brand new. I love having the main handset in my home office and have the additional handsets placed all over the house - both up and downstairs. It's very old school and convenient! For the price and shipping that I paid (I live in Canada), and the fact that something was able to be re-used and re-purposed - I am very pleased with this purchase. I promise to one day sit down and read the instruction manual that was included but for now I am able to figure my way around these phones pretty well. As can be seen by the picture, the phones are pink (champagny-pink but not quite a rose gold) and girly. I love them!

The Panasonic phone system is an upgraded model of what we've had for a decade+ We like it and the new features, especially the Call Blocking. I didn't pay attention to the photo showing the handset for the base is a corded type, a minor inconvenience. The surprise was that we thought we were ordering a "new" model of the system, and were surprised it wasn't new. Have only had it over the weekend, can't do a lot of evaluating, but thus far it works fine. I'd like to know where, when ordering and they offer both New and Refurbished, one is made aware how one orders.

Ans mach sounds not so clear, but I don't care. You can always still use your telephone service provider's voicemail if you prefer. I also do Call Screen. I saw questions from potential buyers that I will answer. Oh, first of all, to make sure the ans machine works on Base, program Handset to Answer Off. Now, 2 AAA rechargeable batteries are in the Handset which sits in charger. Headset plugs into Handset. Really happy. Announces Caller ID. Ring tone for me is Jazz. Has So many convenient features ! Happy

I bought this to replace an old Motorola system that is finally giving up after 15+ years. The Motorola unit was built to last, and by contrast, this Panasonic lacks the same heft and solid feel. However, it does seem to work better than the old unit with respect to range and clarity. Also, it uses standard AAA-size rechargeable batteries, so I won't need to search (and pay) for proprietary batteries when the time comes to replace them. Overall, although it lacks the feel of a top quality phone, it's probably as good as anything else available.
