Amazing build quality, looks great in the kitchen. I am shocked that I haven't bought a microwave with an inverter or cook sensor before. The inverter is a game changer for cooking at lower power and defrosting. The cook sensor works so well that all I have to do to reheat left overs is press 1 button and wait.     • Just the right size & good quality
I had owned a Panasonic before & decided since it lasted over 10 yrs I would stay with that brand. Lightening strike was the cause for the loss of the previous microwave. I like the smaller size & that I could get one with 1250 watts like my past microwave.

    • child lock failed after 3 months, locking door permanently
seems to work fine, but door locked and will not unlock after 3 months. tried all the AI support options - nothing worked. My only solution is to drive it 40 miles (~75 mins in Seattle metro traffic) to a service center, where I assume even if they could fix it - I'd have to make ANOTHER trip back to pick it up. No thanks. Also note - child lock cannot be permanently disabled in this; it reactivates whenever the thing loses power and requires that cryptic button combo to disable again. Child locks like this are really dumb; give consumers the choice. Our microwave nook is 5 feet in the air. Our 4 yo could only reach it by climbing up on the counter. We shouldn't be forced to by a microwave that activates this by default and creates a failure point. Give us choice to buy a microwave with this child-safety feature or NOT. I have lots of child safety stuff in my house; I'm happy to do it when it makes sense. But this doesn't. My microwave is high, and this 2 button system is only going to protect the 4 year-olds who are too stupid to notice that you must press one button, then a second button to open this. Our stove is lower and is what we use to boil water - so this offers essentially no benefit/protection to our family. Just inconvenience. ... show more

    • Overall a good microwave
This microwave seems to work fine but what I don’t like is the number pad is not lighted so at night it is hard to see. The child lock is a minor problem if you can’t get it removed, I did once but it came back on after a while. Overall it seems to be a good product,heats up fast too

    • Great microwave.
Works perfectly and seems to cook faster than my the older Panasonic microwave of about the similar model. It still worked fine after several years, but was starting to rust inside probably from spilled liquids. Once I learned how to get rid of all the kid protection features it’s perfect.

    • Heats Very Evenly And Has More Power Than You Need.
I got this countertop Panasonic 1250 W inverter microwave because I couldn't find a replacement for the over-the-range microwave that lasted nine years, as did the previous unit of the same brand. Not because they wouldn't fit but because two different models from two well-known brands in a row did not heat the food sufficiently or evenly compared to the older units I had. So I decided I had to get a countertop model, and this Panasonic was the best reviewed. After I bought it, I did find a larger capacity, slightly more powerful over-the-range unit, by one of the manufacturers of the previous units I had returned, as I needed to fill that space above the oven, and that works properly. So now I have two top-of-the-line microwave ovens. Regarding this Panasonic, it has a lot of power. When I tried to use full power at first, it would bubble sauce in frozen items and splatter it. I have to use the 8, out of 10 power setting, or sometimes 9, for most things to have them come out consistent with the instructions for heating the food. So far I have mostly heated frozen items, and the Panasonic heats them very evenly. I haven't used the sensor function, as I have never used that with a microwave, or maybe when I did it didn't seem to work, so I just go by food instructions and experience for the power setting and the time setting. Maybe the sensor works fine on this unit, as others have reported. I like that this model gives you clear loud beeps when it turns off. I don't care for the faint little melodies some units play, I want to know when the food is done. Some people complain about the child lock function that requires a separate control panel button press before you can press the button to open the door, but it's pretty easy to turn that off, just pressing three buttons in succession does the trick. If the unit is unplugged or loses power for some reason you will have to repeat the process to turn off the child lock again. The unit is also fairly quiet. The only complaint I have is that the control panel buttons and lettering are very difficult to see under normal lighting. I have taken to using a small flashlight next to the microwave to see the buttons, and I've just ordered some magnetically attachable, flexible-neck grill or sewing machine type lamps to put on top of the oven above the control panel and bend forward and downward to, one would hope, illuminate the control panel. I'll see how they work when I get them tomorrow. The only other complaint is that, having no handle, the door gets fingerprints every time you open and close it, and I frequently have to wipe it down with 70% isopropyl alcohol. This is a problem on most microwaves that have a a stainless steel metal finish, but it's a more persistent problem when there's no handle. But these are small things compared to its excellent functionality. I can't speak to durability because I've only had it about a week, but so far I've had no problems. ... show more

The microwave works fine. Has lots of options, most of which we won't use. The software 9instruction book), is not very good. Like a lot of software and instruction books, they are crystal clear to the writer, but not so much to the user. This newer version replaced it's wonderful, 20 year old predecessor. ... show more
