  • A REAL GAME CHANGER A REAL GAME CHANGER
I absolutely love my new Panasonic microwave. The “sensor” feature is a real game changer. You no longer have to guess how long to put it in for, the sensor reheat function does it for you. I put my frozen Healthy Choice bowl in the microwave, pushed sensor reheat, and it came out absolutely perfect. No burnt on the bottom or cold in the middle, just perfect. That may be the only button I’ll ever need, lol. ... show more

  • Heats Very Evenly And Has More Power Than You Need.
I got this countertop Panasonic 1250 W inverter microwave because I couldn't find a replacement for the over-the-range microwave that lasted nine years, as did the previous unit of the same brand. Not because they wouldn't fit but because two different models from two well-known brands in a row did not heat the food sufficiently or evenly compared to the older units I had. So I decided I had to get a countertop model, and this Panasonic was the best reviewed. After I bought it, I did find a larger capacity, slightly more powerful over-the-range unit, by one of the manufacturers of the previous units I had returned, as I needed to fill that space above the oven, and that works properly. So now I have two top-of-the-line microwave ovens. Regarding this Panasonic, it has a lot of power. When I tried to use full power at first, it would bubble sauce in frozen items and splatter it. I have to use the 8, out of 10 power setting, or sometimes 9, for most things to have them come out consistent with the instructions for heating the food. So far I have mostly heated frozen items, and the Panasonic heats them very evenly. I haven't used the sensor function, as I have never used that with a microwave, or maybe when I did it didn't seem to work, so I just go by food instructions and experience for the power setting and the time setting. Maybe the sensor works fine on this unit, as others have reported. I like that this model gives you clear loud beeps when it turns off. I don't care for the faint little melodies some units play, I want to know when the food is done. Some people complain about the child lock function that requires a separate control panel button press before you can press the button to open the door, but it's pretty easy to turn that off, just pressing three buttons in succession does the trick. If the unit is unplugged or loses power for some reason you will have to repeat the process to turn off the child lock again. The unit is also fairly quiet. The only complaint I have is that the control panel buttons and lettering are very difficult to see under normal lighting. I have taken to using a small flashlight next to the microwave to see the buttons, and I've just ordered some magnetically attachable, flexible-neck grill or sewing machine type lamps to put on top of the oven above the control panel and bend forward and downward to, one would hope, illuminate the control panel. I'll see how they work when I get them tomorrow. The only other complaint is that, having no handle, the door gets fingerprints every time you open and close it, and I frequently have to wipe it down with 70% isopropyl alcohol. This is a problem on most microwaves that have a a stainless steel metal finish, but it's a more persistent problem when there's no handle. But these are small things compared to its excellent functionality. I can't speak to durability because I've only had it about a week, but so far I've had no problems. ... show more

  • Faulty lock latch would not open after first use
The item was new and looked great. After plugging it in and reheating a burger patty. I went to open the door and it wouldn't open. I used the open door key button, but it would not open. I unplugged it and enter the code Defrost - Timer - Popcorn, but it still would not open. Had to use a flat spatula to open the door and get the food out. I spent a good hour retrying and unplugging the microwave, but the open push lock felt loose and had not effect on the lock. I think the solenoid is faulty. Hence, I had to return it that same night it was delivered. Received a new replacement and I'm very happy now. Works great, I like the reheat sensor which measures the steam and sets the remaining time automatically. ... show more

  • Door doesn’t work
I guess I should’ve read the details better. After you cook something the door automatically locks, and you have to press an unlock button before you can press the button to open the door. While this is a trivial inconvenience, what’s the point? To keep kids from getting your food out of the microwave? If you don’t have the child safety feature enabled, they can out whatever they want in there, and cook it, but they can’t get it out bc a door is locked regardless of the child safety feature being enabled. Now the door is stuck closed and won’t even open. ... show more
