The media could not be loaded. It’s been warm in Texas so we haven’t needed to use the heat so I can’t speak to if it will heat the room. However, we tested the heater and it works. We got this for a great deal, 60” for under $100 and it’s STUNNING. Wish I had gotten another for the guest and main bedroom. Assembly seems easy, great value for the cost, little to no noise, it’s huge and functional!

The media could not be loaded. We love this because it added heat and needed ambiance to our drab living quarters. Mostly use the two normal orange color flames but the other colors will be a nice change from time to time (used the blue/green once with an under-the-sea mermaid vibe)- the colors on pics are not very telling: 20 options of orange, red, green, blue, magenta, rose, purple, pink- a few are singular, some 2 or more color mixes with some adding a whitish color- and lastly a 21st setting that cycles through all the colors for @10 seconds each. The heater heats our studio nicely, unfortunately the set temperature feature does not really work well- while it has turned off at the lower settings, I have tried many temp settings but we do usually end up having to turn the heater to off setting to get it to actually turn off (we have a clock on wall with temperature so we can definitely gauge it even with some differential allowances.) My $25 space heater temp works fine so for this price it would just be nicer to be able to rely on set temp for auto shut off so loses one star for that, and the remote makes it easy to change but the beeping with each change to cycle though temps (or any feature) is loudly disturbing when turning on early morning to get it warmed up before getting out of bed- so for now we just switch between on-off instead (temp ranges from *even numbers only* 62-86 then on-off, up and down arrow buttons only, and it does default to last settings when you turn power back on so that's a plus.) Noteworthy the 50" is a pretty hefty unit not cheap or lightweight, easier with 2 people holding- the little crystals you kind of have to place strategically and can shift around if not held steady. We are trying to decide if the heat will affect our TV if we mount it underneath (and how close,) or rather should mount above TV... for now it's resting against wall on floor and the unit does not get hot- unit stays cool and only blows heat out of top middle- I specifically bought this because in one pic the arrows appear to have heat vents all across the top thinking it would be more widespread than a space heater, so I was a little disappointed to learn the middle is only heat vent (12"x2") while the left and right vents are air inlets as the lower vent pic indicates but I failed to notice- but it certainly does produce enough heat though for our 11x12 room and looks very nice. The video is on slowest brightest flames, you can speed them up and dim them, 5 levels each. Also a timer of 1-8 hours. If thermostat worked it'd be 5 star, loving this.
