It’s a very good everyday mascara. It’s nothing vavavoom, but good for work. Good to use as a builder then finish with another to get that extra WOW factor without using up expensive ones in the first coats.

    • So much better for your lashes/eyes
I love that I can get this in brown. It’s a very natural looking dark brown that accentuates your lashes without giving them a fake black finish. The brush size and style is perfect for lengthening and separating. It doesn’t get clumpy and dry as fast as other brands. If you feel it’s too thick or dry to work with, just dip wand in distilled water. Sometimes with any mascara you can get one that’s been exposed to temperature extremes in warehousing or shipping. Which is very hard on makeup. Especially one that’s more natural and free of potential carcinogens like this one. So be realistic and don’t write off healthy makeup that’s less than perfect upon opening. It’s best with this mascara, as well as many others ; to apply in 2-3 coats with drying in between. You get the defined prominent look you want without getting tarantula eyes. It’s a waste of time to try and build on wet mascara, with each stroke your removing the same amount your applying. I love how good this has been for my lashes. They are longer and stopped falling it every time I remove mascara. It comes off easily with baby oil or eye makeup wipes. Only lash type I don’t recommend it for is short curly. Simply because you need a thin short bristle brush. You could take a brush from another mascara, clean sterilize and screw on to this tube if the fatter brush isn’t right for you or if you prefer a curved brush. This mascara is awesome. It’s literally the only one I’ve ever found that goes on nicely without having to comb out the clumps. I refuse to use the toxic makeup sold by most companies, and this mascara is pretty clean, so it’s a double win!! I love this mascara. I have really long eyelashes, and most mascaras end up looking silly. I think this is my new favorite. It’s buildable and natural looking. I got the brown and love it

I’ve used the same Maybelline The Colossal for at least a decade now. But I’ve been slowly switching to natural make-up and beauty products. I knew of this brand and so I figured trying a new, reasonably priced mascara wouldn’t hurt too bad. And I have to say, this mascara has already earned its place. I’ve tried so so many natural mascaras. This one is good for thickening, but it dries out very quickly. I added 2 drops of water when it seemed empty and that has made it last a few extra weeks. I use this combined with a thinner mascara like the Covergirl Clean (light aqua green tube), Gabriel (I’ve only found it at natural food stores), or the Burts Bees on top. ... show more

    • Better than I expected!
I’m used to treating my eyelashes with organic lotion before applying a hypoallergenic mascara to keep the mascara from clumping which worked but the hypoallergenic part was not working so well for me. I tried a red hypoallergenic mascara that left me with fuchsia streaks if I cried or got sweaty so that was out too. I searched online for an organic mascara and the reviews here seemed to be ok and I though I’d try the brown (not expecting too much from it). I was pleasantly surprised. The first time I pretreated my lashes with lotion and I couldn’t get the mascara on at all! (Kind of a duh moment.) Anyways, I can use it fine on its own without clumping or running. I’ve cried a few times and found the mascara still in place! My eyes are not irritated at the end of the day and this mascara is almost weightless compared to the clumpier stuff I used before. The only thing I can think to suggest for change is to have different colors; this one is better than most but still doesn’t have that naturally defining look for me. I’m a strawberry blonde (you can’t really see my eyelashes or eyebrows) with hazel eyes and fair skin; dark brown or black just stands out too un-naturally. Overseas I had a red mascara, here I’d normally use Almay regular raisin or plum, and my eyebrow color is a light brown shade- all of which are closer to my natural complexion. Most máscaras come in black or brown and they just don’t work for me. Other than that I believe this is my mascara from now on!
