This charges exactly like the original Ryobi charger. It's doesn't get hot, the 15 batteries in the shop all fit. But this plugs into the wall outlet and doesn't have any 3rd party safety certification like UL or ETL. It claims to be designed to meet UL but that's absolutely not the same as having a UL lab test and certify that the construction is safe. You have to trust that the manufacturer is doing the right things. Really good value at $19.99, very good performance comparable to the OEM, but no safety certs.

We use nothing but Ryobi at our house, but when I saw this charger I decided to give it a try. It works splendidly and rivals our name brand Ryobi Chargers with no problems. Charges our Ryobi batteries in the same time frame as our name brand Ryobi Chargers and the cost is far better making this a great value. Feels slightly lighter weight than the Ryobi Chargers, but he has held out for several months now so I think it's a good reliable durable product. It's functionality and ease of use is the same as any other charger just drop in your battery and go! Here’s my rating scale for products: 1 Star: Do not buy. This item has serious flaws. I would never under any circumstances use again. 2 Stars: Do not buy. Its usable at best, but you could easily find something better. 3 Stars: Just ok. Buy if you can't find an alternative. Some issues need to be addressed. 4 Stars: Recommend purchase. This item met my expectations. 5 Stars: I love this product and would highly recommend to friends & family. Additional Information: As a Vine reviewer, I know that people depend on these early revies as I to depend on reviews when shopping on Amazon. I fully intend to give honest insights. Because I pay taxes on the retail value of the products I receive (approximately 40%, which includes 15.3% for Social Security/Medicare taxes and 25% for Federal Income taxes), I will not only leave a review, but should my view change I will update the review as well.

I'd inherited a Ryobi P200 drill when a family member passed, but no one knew what had happened to the battery charger. Trusting that the drill would work with a fully charged battery, I ordered the P117 18 Volt Dual Chemistry IntelliPort Charger. When the charger arrived, I was a little surprised at the size, as the charger was significantly larger than the battery. However, I discovered that once the battery was installed and charging, the charger was very stable and there's no chance of it being tipped over. The charger has two LED indicators. One is essentially the charger's condition, and the other is the battery's condition. The front of the charger has a small legend of the possible indicator conditions and the associated meaning, just in case the manual's not around. Solid red and flashing green indicated the charger recognized my battery and it was charging. Less than three hours later, I had only a solid green light, indicating my battery was fully charged. With the battery installed in my drill, its full power spin confirmed the worth of the charger. I think the charging time was reasonable and I recommend this charger to other Ryobi owners. A five-star rating is well justified.

This charger is working great with my Ryobi batteries. It doesn't matter which type of battery or what size I throw at it, the charger adapts and charges the battery up in no time at all. It's much quicker than the charger that came with these batteries or the tools these batteries came with. It is lightweight, easy to use and a great value when compared to some others or the OEM charger. I would suggest and would get it again if I needed another.
