Ordered this after having to get a new TV that was incompatible with my old soundbar, and which had terrible internal speakers. Unfortunately the first unit that arrived was dead on arrival. The return was very easy and I was shipped a new unit. The new unit works exactly as I had hoped, and required no set up beyond connecting the power and connecting the HDMI to the TV set. I bought this to improve the sound of a new TV we installed at our weekend vacation home. I wasn’t expecting big booming sound as it’s designed to be gaming soundbar. The voices sound very clear and the bass is better than the TV which was nil. I bought this for its size and the HDMI (arc) port which is compatible with the new Samsung. Unfortunately it doesn’t work, tried everything, all the settings and different HDMI cables. I was able to set it up using Bluetooth. I am going to keep it as I bought it on sale and who knows if it’s the TV port issue or the soundbar. It came nicely packaged and was shipped in its original box.     • Sound is excellent for the size and price.
I bought this for a raspberry pi used as a media center. I couldn't get the HDMI to work (probably the fault of the pi) and haven't tested the optical or USB inputs, but sound on the 3.5 phono port and Bluetooth is crisp. Misses the low bass, which i expected, and the auto shutoff on no input can be annoying, but otherwise I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

    • You will hate auto standby feature.
The perfect speaker for someone that wants to turn it back on every 5 minutes. It has an auto standby feature that will infuriate you. If you have sound playing constantly it is a mediocre speaker at best. Any of the wired configurations give a slight static to the sound at volumes 1-3, but Bluetooth seems a bit better. contacting customer service is a waste of time. They will ask all kinds of questions about serial numbers and how its hooked up to later inform you none of that matters because the static is your fault and they programmed in the time out flaw. ... show more

    • Not worth the money.
I have several issues with this device. The two big ones are: 1) I don't see anywhere on the Amazon listing that this speaker goes into standby mode. I don't know what the timeout period is but it is very annoying having to turn it on. I expect a speaker system to be on all the time. 2) The site/vendor claims 130W output. I cranked it to max. That was not 130W of sound. And I heard and felt no bass. Other things of note. Setup per se is not that difficult however, getting it configured for a specific input should not require the use of the remote to go to a specific input. Cycling blind through the speaker itself is painful. This is a bulky item for under a monitor. I have space issues and this is just in the way. If fits, sort of. But I keep hitting either end of the speaker. This is not worth the money, even with the discount. I'm returning this and going for a different system ... show more

TL;DR -- Not recommended. This is word for word what I told the Manufacturer. 'Let me expand on my previous note that you obviously misunderstood. While I was able to get the "OXS Thunder Lite PC Gaming Soundbar, Sound Bar" to work on all the available inputs without a problem, I don't think the soundbar merits the price (even with $50 off). The basic sound is unremarkable, the bass is so lacking that a subwoofer is necessary but there is not a subwoofer output. I think the bass tubes are a rather pointless gimmick. The VTS when enabled causes the sound to be unclear and strident.' 'On the other hand, the "VIZIO 2.0 Home Theater Sound Bar with DTS ... SB2020n-J6" is much better sounding. The Vizio doesn't have much bass either but at least Vizio recognizes this and provides a subwoofer out (which the OXS lacks). The VTS/DTS on the Vizio works well and is not strident, it has EQ and a much more usable remote control. The Vizio SB2020n-J6 costs less than the OXS Thunder Lite ($79 vs, $150). Even with $50 sale, the OXS Thunder Lite is still more expensive. I would be willing to pay more money for OXS if it met the expectations the sales pitch sets but it fails to meet them. The Vizio is a well designed product targeted to a difficult market segment yet it succeeds. Vizio is also visually more attractive and fits under most monitors better because of it's lower profile. It's not perfect but it's extremely good for the price. You really need to take a careful look at that product.' 'I tried a number of compact sound bars under $100 and it appears that best by far is the Vizio. You should be happy that I even considered the OSX Thunder Lite. By the way, the word "thunder" should not be part of the product name. Unless, by "Thunder Lite" you mean "thunder with almost no bass". But in that case, a better name would be "OSX Thunderless".
