  • Love the color and texture of this rock pla. Used a whole roll for some Hogwarts book nooks
Color: New-walnut Wood
Really good filament Used almost the entire roll without any issues. Excellent value, melts on temp, no jamming due to bad diameters, no clogging, nada works like a champ

  • Great Rock PLA for Print-and-Play Terrain
Color: Natural-alpine Forest
OVERTURE’s Rock PLA has been a great addition to my filament lineup. I print a lot of tabletop terrain, and these colors give the pieces a really nice stone-like look right off the printer without needing paint. For a lot of my terrain, that basically makes it print-and-play. Compared to some of the other matte “rock” style PLA options out there, the price is really solid. Honestly, I wish I had started buying OVERTURE sooner. I haven’t had any issues with filament diameter, the spools have always been wound well, and I’ve had very little trouble with brittleness. One of the bigger surprises was that I had a spool sitting open in my office on an AMS Lite for months. I turned the printer back on, started printing, and it ran without skipping a beat. I’ve used multiple colors of this filament now, and it has been very dependable for terrain prints. ... show more

  • Great for Topography Maps Great for Topography Maps
Color: Natural-alpine Forest
I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the print quality of this filament. With a typical drying, I had no stringing or real performance differences than Bambu filament I typically use. I do recommend downloading their print profiles from the website. They have them for different slicers and printers. It was very helpful for maximizing my quality. The only thing that did surprise me was that the filament has a bit more gloss to the finish. I think faster color transition options would be nice as well, as these aren’t going to show fully on anything less than 100 grams or so. I really hope they make even more natural colors for future maps and more shades of green would be nice too. My biggest wish is gray granite like tones. A blue transition for darker less vibrant water bodies would be neat too. ... show more

  • Jarrah - Great Color and Texture Jarrah - Great Color and Texture
Color: New-jarrah
My understanding is that this not a real wood filament, which would only be a problem if this didn't have such a lovely texture. My biggest gripe with a lot of filaments containing calcium carbonate (e.g. marble/rock) or wood is that they often still result in a shiny and obviously plastic texture, but this has a gorgeous matte finish. The Jarrah color prints slightly less red than it appears in the photos and on the roll, but still results in fantastic color, texture, and overall aesthetic similar to terracotta pottery. All in all, it was well worth the sub-$20 price. Overture also nailed the stock profile in orca: The temperature tower I printed on my centauri carbon (with a hardened steel nozzle) had optimal adhesion without stringing at a temperature of 220° and printed reasonably quickly for an abrasive filament at a max volumetric flow of 16mm/sec. The optimal temp for my Qidi X-Plus 4 was 225°, so I still recommend doing a quick temperature tower beforehand to get the best results. ... show more

  • Adhesion Issues? Try a cold plate
Color: 03-fossil Rock
HIGHLY Suggest using a COLD PLATE if you're having ADHESION issues with this. That's all, I was tuning the flow, temps, etc, but adhesion was an issue, even with glue and hairspray. Once it sticks, and you have all the other settings dialed in, this stuff prints beautifully with a .6 nozzle (hardened). ... show more

  • Great looking, but a little tricky to print.
Color: Grey-mist Gray
This filament has an attractive finish and is clearly intended for decorative models rather than functional parts. It has very low strength, weak layer adhesion, and poor adhesion to PEI build surfaces, so a glue stick is necessary for reliable first‑layer bonding. Its limited strength also required using two‑wall tree supports to prevent them from breaking during printing. The one advantage of the low adhesion is that supports release easily. Tuning was more challenging than expected. This is the lowest‑temperature PLA I’ve used, printing as low as 170°C, though higher temperatures improved adhesion. It also cannot be printed quickly; slower speeds were needed to maintain quality. Even with strong part cooling, the material becomes gummy at lower temperatures and appears to have a low glass‑transition point, so longer layer times were required for each layer to firm up. As a result, small prints like a Benchy demanded extra care and time. ... show more

  • Poor color changer, indeed!
Color: 04-rock Rainbow
The positives: This PLA filament prints well, no issues with the spooling, the texture, or any other printing technicalities. I did not have to change any of my PLA settings to successfully print. The negatives: The filament is one solid color on the strand of filament at a time, so it is layers that change color. And there are YARDS of the same color so the image shown in the manufacturer picture would need to be HUGE in order to show that level of color variation. The piece of coral to have that effect would be too large to fit on most print beds, actually. I was printing several items and the first 40% were the same color. Pretty lame. I would not recommend this particular filament if you want a color changer. If you want something to print in one solid color but you want to live dangerously and not pick a specific color then this filament is perfect. Personally, I like to decide in which color my projects print. I feel the picture to be completely misleading. ... show more
