  • Amazing filament!! Invisible layers and prints smooth.
Color: 00-matte Black
Just WOW!. I'll update with photos of my prints later on. I've been searching for matte filaments and there seems to be limited options. Not only have i think i found it, i dear say i found my goldilocks filament. Ordering 3 more rolls next week as I've been printing 24hrs a day since i got it a few days ago. Excited to try other colors. Roll was nicely wound and print quality is astounding, printing is very easily and was dialed very quickly. and i have zero complaints so far. Layer lines are pretty much invisible even at .2 layer heights. .13 is jaw dropping. Been printing an order for a local hobby shop and they at first didn't believe it was 3d printed as it looked multitudes better than previous filament I've used on their order. I've been printing on my mostly stock ender 3 v2. Only modifications are z-brace rods, bltouch, dual z and printed z motor mounts. Printing here the update NY winter is usually challenging as where i print in my home can be as low as 10c ( will be finishing my enclosure soon). Saying that my only struggle has been minor corner warping and bed adhesion. but i doubt that would be an issue in warmer rooms. The issue has been resolved though as i really squish my first layer (leaves very fine elephant foot that cleans quite easily with a sharp hobby knife or 220grit sand paper) since i print 7-20 parts at a time. Can't afford failures. I am printing on the stock textured side of the ender 3 glass bed. For those with an ender 3 i do Hot end at 195-200c, 60c bed temp at 40mm sec (as i prefer quality over speed ) retract 6.5mm 50mmsec, default cura coasting settings and filament equalizer enabled. 75%-100% fan after initial 2 layers. I'd also like to add that my printed upgrades are done in hatchbox abs for strength and temperature resistance. But now any parts that aren't at risk of high temperature exposure I'm using this matte black pla because it looks that amazing and is suitably strong. If I run into any issues I'll update accordingly. Update 7 Days Later So i ordered this filament for an order for a hobby shop. Printing drag racing slot car stands. I printed 96 of these in 4 different filaments. After the first 28 this filament arrived and after the first test prints i was amazed and now only use this filament. I went through the whole 1kg roll in 6 days. Ordered another and already been printing into the 2nd roll. I've updated my nozzle temp to 210c and I'm using a .8 brass nozzle. A worth while mention is these stands i print they're only 3 bottom 2 top, 1 perimeter and 0% infill. And they're almost perfect, very light and just as strong as previous prints with .4 using 3b 4t and 2 perimeter. The watering can is from thingiverse and printed at 60mmsec, 3 bottom and in vase mode. Also worth noting i check filament diameter periodically as i go through the roll and so far it's been between 1.72-1.77mm. Overall still my new favorite go to pla. I definitely prefer a matte finish and this filament definitely delivers. ... show more

  • Worth it!
Color: 01-matte Light Brown
Overture PLA Filament (Matte light brown) – Prints like a dream on my Bambu Lab P1S. The spool was neatly wound with no tangles, and many makers swear by Overture as their go-to brand. I see why – my Gridfinity bins came out chef’s kiss smooth, with no stringing or adhesion issues. The matte pastel finish hides layer lines and looks incredibly clean. I’ve had zero clogs or weird bubbles; it’s reliable and budget-friendly not to mentioned looks like wood! I was shocked how much this gave a good vibe and I’ve used it in various applications all of which turned out great! It does have a faint plastic smell that all filament has but doesn’t intensify when it’s printing or warmed. The performance is amazing and it’s the right diameter for the Bambu labs and, but sure you clean your nozzle before and after each print to prevent sloppy prints due to excess filament. Would I buy it again? Oh for sure – Overture just earned a permanent slot on my filament shelf ... show more

  • Matte filament is great for hiding the signs of a 3D printed part
Color: 03-matte Light Gray
I needed a filament that best matched Haze Grey and that wasn't going to cost me a couple hundred dollars for a color calibrated filament. US Navy Ships are painted in 2 colors on the exterior, Haze Grey and Deck Grey. The grey color you see when you look a Carrier or a Destroyer is Haze Grey, Deck grey is a darker grey and is usually painted on the floor of traversed spaces aka where a sailor may step on. I needed something that was close after a lot of research I bought 3 grey PLA's and of the 3, this was the closet in color. The ship I printed was 1/700th scale using a .2mm Nozzle and a .08 nozzle layer height. I used an Ender 3 Pro and I printed on a piece of G10 heated up to 60 degrees. I had lot a bunch of trouble getting this to stick at first. I refuse to use glue sticks, hair sprays, etc to make them stick and I almost caved here. I think the problems with getting this to stick deal with the smaller surface area of a .2mm nozzle. I found if I used a brim of at least 8mm in diameter then I had a much better chance of getting it to stick. if you look at the one picture you can see my thumb, to get an idea of how small some of the parts were. I had some stringing on some of the smaller parts but because of how long these take to print and the fact I knew I was going to do some post processing I wasn't too worried. I also tried some larger prints using a .6mm nozzle and these had no issues at all. I printed some PCB din rail holders since I already had this filament queued up and the filament had no issues with sticking or stringing. The matte color does a really good job of hiding the layer lines you can still see them in the right light or up close. This is the first time I've ever tried this brand. I generally stick to the same 1-2 brands that I know and trust. I have mixed feeling amount wether I would buy more from this same company. on the one hand I had a lot of trouble when printing really small but on the other with larger nozzles I've had no problems. this is problem due to a lack of experience with printing really small, fine detail models. ... show more
