Check the temperature setting before printing, PLA filaments have lower extrusion temperature;2. Check if the plate surface has been used for a long time, it is recommended to replace it with our new one to ensure an strong first layer adhesion;3. If the first layer has poor adhesion, it is recommended to re-level the print substrate to reduce the distance between the nozzle and the surface plate;4. If the effect is not good, it is recommended to try printing the draft before printing. • Do you like Amazon Basics PLA? Because that's what this is!
Color: Red
Sure it may not be called "Amazon Basics" but this filament is identical - same spool, even the Overture logo and other writing on the spool match the Amazon Basics filament line. I love this stuff, it's cheap and it works well in my Prusa MK3S and my Monoprice Maker Select Plus.

  • Low Density led to major under extrusion, multiple failures in prints.
Color: Red
I bought a roll of this since it was on sale, and decided to try it for a two color project. The calibration cube and a couple of other tests appeared to be ok, but when I started on heavier prints for the project I started to have major under-extrusion issues in random places. I took several spot measurements of the diameter of the filament, and it was all 1.70-1.80 mm. So I knew that wasn't the issue. Yet, as you can see in the picture of the tube, there are several layers with minimal filament present, where there should have been a 4mm thick wall. The tube mechanically failed about 1/3 of the way up where those major underextrusions occurred. Examining the failure points, there were random bits of filament, then a solid line, then random bits again, etc. I was able to separate these layers with minimal force. Then I remembered that I had two calibration cubes printed with different brands of filament. Exact same g-code, so they should be really close in weight, right? Well, as you can see in the pictures, that was *not* the case. The Hatchbox PLA (black) weighed in at 5.47 grams, while the Overture PLA (red) weight 3.92 grams. Nearly 30% lighter!!! Sadly, this is not a good value if prints fail due to structural problems from underextrusion due to the low density of this filament. ... show more

  • Glad I gave this stuff a shot
Color: Space Gray
I'm extremely impressed with the way this filament has been going through my Ender 3 Pro. Great adhesion and goes through my extruder like butter. Extruder temp 195 Bed temp 55

  • Inconsistent. Temperamental. Brittle.
Color: Black 2-pack
Like Hatchbox? Good. Me too. That stuff is amazingly consistent. This stuff isn't. I was printing Facemask ear protectors with Hatchbox PLA on my Ender 3 with a Glass bed and making 50 a day for my Nurse friends. Hatchbox was running out. Found this PLA and it had some decent reviews. Bought it. Swapped out PLA and ran same Gcode for protectors. Failed adhesion... poor distribution. Issues. Issues. Issues. After 2 hours of playing with settings and releveling the bed. I gave up. Fast forward 2 weeks. Decide to print some Benchies. Failed adhesion on first layer. Issues. Issues. Issues. Change some settings. OH WOW. ONE OF THEM WORKED!? I print another with settings for higher quality. OH WOW ANOTHER WORKED. I might have found the secret to getting this PLA to work like hatchbox! Try for a 3rd benchy... Failed Adhesion. Issues. Issues. Issues. After 3 hours of playing with settings, reverting to the original Gcode of the ones that worked... I've come to see that this PLA is as the other critical reviews have stated. Brittle, under density and inconsistent. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a good roll. I do not recommend this brand. ... show more

  • This review is JUST for the white PLA... it is NOT White... It's Very Much OFF-White/Yellowish.
Color: White 1-pack
I needed WHITE PLA so I ordered 3 spools of the OVERTURE White... the product photos must have been photoshopped because it got here aaaaand... this stuff is very much an OFF-white/almost yellow, not an actual white. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say it's the LEAST white, white PLA I've ever purchased. The other photos posted by users also looked pretty white but now I realize that they weren't taking the photo near anything that was ACTUALLY white so their cameras auto-adjusted the white balance to make it look more what than it actually is. I took photos next to ACTUAL white PLA so that my phone's camera would auto white balance properly and the pics I took look pretty accurate (on my phone and computer screens anyway). Since I needed ACTUAL white, I wasn't even able to use this stuff. Just immediately sent it back for a refund after seeing how not-white it was. And yes, I know I can paint over it but that kind of defeats the purpose for me. If I was going to paint over it then why even get white filament and pay a (somewhat) premium price when I can just get other filament that works fine for close to $11-$15/spool and just paint over that. Very disappointed :/ It's really too bad... I was looking forward to trying this stuff out after seeing all the positive reviews. Maybe I'll still try their other colors but if you're in need of actual white PLA, look elsewhere. I know this is slightly a rant but I hope the information and photos are helpful to someone out there. ... show more

  • Good company, Good quality value filament
Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. This is some really nice filament. Put it to the test on my super wobbly Tronxy X5. It prints well at a lower temp, like 200c on the hot end. The build mat included WITH each roll of filament is a great add on, I gave it a shot with PLA and it stuck on great and my part popped off when cooled down. Very nice vibrant red. I wrote this reveiw unsolicited for no compensation of any sort for fellow makers to make a solid choice. 🤘🏻 ... show more

  • JUST DON'T BUY SUNLU
Color: White 1-pack
I've now bought three different brands of PLA filament: AmazonBasics, Overture, and Sunlu. Since Sunlu was the highest rated and "Amazon's choice" I thought I'd try it...boy was that a mistake! The recommended retraction speed demanded on their SPLA is 100mm/s (four times higher than default rate) - after trying multiple different settings combinations (their recommended, the default, and lots of mixtures), I eventually gave up. The stringing on the prints is unbearable and I discovered that half of their five star reviews are due to a Twitter promotion wherein a 5 star review earned you a free roll/etc. I never write reviews but if I can stop even ONE person from making my mistake then it will have been worth it. This Overture filament was great - adhesion was flawless (I use painter's tape on my bed but it adhered to the Ender 3 build tac default bed as well) and the layers were even. ... show more
