I am nowhere close to having any artistic talents, so I did not get these for art projects. However, I do have the need to mark things up in my garage and workshop with something more durable that the typical sharpie-type marker; these paint markers are ideal for that. This package of 36 Overseas brand markers currently sells for about $33 on Amazon or about $.92 each. For under a dollar, you cannot go wrong with these. I get the red markers but there is a total of eight colors available. However, I would like to see these offered in an assortment, for example 12 each of the primary colors of red, yellow and blue. Or perhaps a set of white, black, and silver. In any case, this set of red markers should be good for what I need. I tried one of these markers out on a variety of surfaces, including paper, cardboard, index cardstock, plastic, steel, aluminum, and wood. The writing showed up clearly on all of these materials and dried quickly. You can see my examples in one of the images I included with this review. The only caution I have is that the paint showed a little bleed through on the back of the paper sample. Note that this was just standard copy/printer paper, so this was not unexpected at all. Overall, these markers did a great job. I don’t know yet how durable the paint markings will be in the long term. But since the markers use oil-based paint, I think they will hold up well. And another nice feature is that each pen is individually wrapped in plastic. This should keep the paint from drying out until you go to use it. I have been using the Overseas oil-based markers in my shop and home for well over a year now. I started using them to mark tools, filling stamped or engraved numbers to make them readable at a distance. I usually use blue and red to differentiate between metric and SAE sizes. I have found the silver most useful on automotive parts, due to the excellent contrast, but also for marking any dark metals for cutting or welding, or sometimes to leave instructions. So I jumped on the chance to try out a 36-pack of the silver markers. I have since started using them to label black plastic bins that I use for shop storage, as well as marking frequently-needed information on floor mounted tools, etc. They really do seem to mark everything. I don't have a good metric for how far these markers go, but the few that I have fully used up all lasted much longer than I was expecting them to. At less than a buck each (only about 73¢, with coupon), these are an excellent value. What really seals the deal for me is that each marker is individually sealed in plastic. I can say from experience that even after a couple of years on the shelf the wrapped markers will still be factory fresh. ... show more

These are fantastic paint pens. The color (silver in my case) looks amazing, very pretty & metallic. They're quite easy to use as well, they seem to take less time & effort to get the paint started than most paint pens I've used.
