These paint pens work really well. It only took a moment to prime the pens and get them working. The nib is strong with a fine point. It is easy to write clearly. The black is solid and opaque so it showed up well. The marker worked on every surface I tried. The paint dried pretty quickly so it didn't smear and after it dried it stayed on the surface and wouldn't wipe off. The cap stays on nicely when not in use, so I don't worry about it falling off in my bag/the marker drying out.     • Great Paint Pens – Just Wish the Caps Were Easier to Remove!

I’ve been really pleased with this set of Overseas 48 Black Oil-Based Paint Pens. The ink goes on smoothly and dries quickly, which makes them super convenient for a wide variety of surfaces. I've tried them on glass, wood, plastic, and ceramics, and they hold up well — no smudging or fading even after some time. The color is rich and consistent, and the medium tips make them versatile but perhaps not perfect for artisans seeking to do detail work or fill in larger areas. However, they work perfectly well for the projects for which I've used them. They seem to last a good while too, and the ink flow stays even with just a quick shake and press. I also like that they barely smell - unlike other paint perns I've used. That said, the caps have been a bit of a pain to deal with. Maybe it's just me, but I found them unusually hard to pull off. The plastic is very slick, and I’ve had to use a cloth or rubber grip more than once to get a cap loose. It's a small thing, but it slows me down when I'm trying to move quickly between pens. If it weren’t for the slippery caps, this would absolutely be a 5-star product for me. Still, the performance and quality are impressive, and I’d definitely recommend these to anyone who enjoys DIY projects, crafts, or custom artwork. ... show more

    • Reliable and Opaque – Great Value for a Bulk Pack of Paint Pens

I’ve ordered this brand before in white and was really happy with the results, so I decided to try the black set this time. They work just as well—dark, opaque paint that dries quickly and doesn’t soak through paper. Just shake them well (there’s a mixing ball inside) and prime the tip by pressing it down on scrap paper a few times. They write smoothly and are useful on all kinds of materials—wood, plastic, metal, ceramic, and more. A huge pack of 48 for around $39 is a great value. I have been looking for some new paint markers to use on acrylic and wood signs and was very pleased to see these come available. The 48 pack will last me forever but it’s too good of a deal to pass up. Like most paint markers you have to prime the tip to get the ink flowing but once it does it works quite well. It’s not a very fine tip so it isn’t the best fit for super fine detail but it’s not really meant for that. It’s worked well on all of the surfaces I’ve tried it on so far. I’m going to order up some smaller packs of their other colors since I’ve had such a good experience with the black ones. ... show more

This is a wonderful set for anyone who likes using white to mark up boxes or add detail to art. The paint doesn’t flood out like some markers which can cause a mess. It isn’t super strong scented. The value is amazing. This is great for a classroom of art students and can work as a cheap alternative to a POSCA dupe. I like how each marker was individually wrapped so that you could use one, keep it in the same box with the rest and still always know which ones have already been used. These markers are interesting in that they would appear to be solvent based from the metal body, but in fact they contain an oil-based paint. Starting them up is easy, just follow the instructions to prime the nib. The white is not what I would call super opaque, but it works if you layer your strokes.
