Ovation Celebrity Standard Exotic Mid-Depth Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Figured Koa (CS24P-FKOA)

Born in 1966, Ovation has a history of innovation. Alternative materials and non-traditional designs give Ovation Guitars a unique voice, look and feel. In the early 70s, Ovation led the way with a revolutionary pickup solution that changed acoustic performance forever. The Ovation difference of creating uncommon, inspiring instruments for performing guitarists around the world continues today. Ovation's legendary approach to acoustic/electric guitars continues with the Celebrity Collection. The CS24P model is a Celebrity Standard Exotic. This means that it features a standard center-soundhole design with a beautiful exotic wood layered top. Chosen for beauty, the unique exotic woods add a stunning visual to a guitar that plays fast thanks to a satin-finished neck. Scalloped X-bracing and Ovation’s Lyrachord mid-depth roundback give this model a rich, full sound, while providing more comfort than a deeper traditional dreadnaught body. Setting the live performance bar high, the CS24P incorporates the combination of an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system which enables players to dial in the perfect tone on stage. The Celebrity Collection offers pro looks, feel and tone, but is designed with the progressing player in mind. Acoustically, the CS24P model starts with a Mid-Depth Lyrachord Roundback cutaway body joined to a thin, layered tonewood soundboard with an exotic wood top. Voiced for natural acoustic tone, optimal response and power, the body and top create the classic Ovation sound. Ovation’s legendary acoustic/electric performance has been a category leader since the early 1970s. For superior live sound, the Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system are installed. The preamp features a three-band EQ, volume/gain control, an onboard tuner and a low-battery light. The high quality pickup and pro preamp make this guitar cut through the mix and resist feedback, even at higher volumes. Celebrity models are crafted with a satin-finished mahogany neck. A soft 'V' shape and a narrower neck width give it a very slim feel. The neck radius is the measurement of the arc of the fretboard and has affects playability. Celebrity models have a 10" radius, feeling more like an electric guitar than other flatter radius acoustics. A curved radius also makes chording easier. The neck has a 20 fret Ovangkol Fretboard and the guitar has a shorter scale length of 25.3"(643mm). The satin finish, smaller nut, slightly smaller scale length, and 10" fingerboard radius all combine to give Celebrity models a fast feel. The Celebrity Standard Exotic models are uncommonly gorgeous. We sought out unique, figured exotic woods to add an elegant touch to these high performance instruments. Choose from Figured Koa, a Nutmeg finished Burled Maple, or the Transparent Black finish over Flamed Maple for an instrument that looks as good as it sounds.
