    • Slowed down my dogs eating significantly

We got the purple bowls for our dogs. We have a 2 year old Rottweiler and a 10 year old boxer. Our Rottweiler has already gotten bloat once and luckily survived, so it’s extremely important to us that she eats slowly. This was our fourth attempt with a slow feeder and the one that takes the longest for her. She spends between 5-10 minutes eating. The first time she used it she got frustrated and flipped the bowl, but has been fine since and seems to enjoy it. Our boxer on the other hand finds it a bit more of a challenge and spends 10-15 minutes eating. She hasn’t gotten frustrated with it yet so we’re letting her continue with it. Though she does have a special mat that she eats on so she can lay down and eat and take her time. We may end up getting her an alternate bowl though. All in all I would recommend. They’re are stackable if they’re the same color, durable, and don’t move around on the floor. They are definitely going to slow your dogs down and mentally stimulate them. This purple flower design works the best for my large and small pups. They have to work a little harder so it slows them way down. It now takes them 11 minutes to eat … I never timed them before but it was a race and I would bet less then a minute. We bought the teal one first for the small dog but he finished before the big dog and he wanted to share the big dogs food. Our small dog is a mini aussie with a pointy nose and the teal bowls design was to wide and not busy enough to slow him down much. He won every time. These are super sturdy and cannot be tipped. My little 9 pound papillon "Happy" inhales food. It usually takes her less than 30 seconds to finish her bowl of food. My other little 6 pound dog, Jazzy, thinks food is optional and takes about 10 minutes to decide how much she wants to eat. So, I was looking for something to slow Happy down so she wouldn't keep staring at the other dog's food. This bowl helps. It now takes her 3 minutes to eat! The bowl cleans easily even though I don't have a dish washer, sticks to the floor and is sturdy. She is a chewer, but has not felt compelled to chew the bowl. By the way, Happy respects Jazzy, and will not touch her food even when Jazzy leaves it. ... show more

I used to wait and hold my breath after my little Yorkie-shaped vacuum would inhale her food. It would go down in 3 seconds and back up onto my carpet in 2. I tried so many tactics like literally separating the kibble from the wet food by distributing on a large pan. For her to inhale that would normally take roughly 5 seconds. This bowl is awesome. My 100 lb doberman would scarf his entire bowl of food in less than 3 minutes which caused me to worry about bloat, choking, and other health issues.
