  • Happy! Sturdy. Love the additional grill. Follow directions. Rotisserie?
I was intrigued by Outvue's multi-functional wood fire grill and I’m happy to report that it didn’t disappoint. The grill is lightweight yet sturdy, and the perfect size for a small gathering, and our family. I already have a 36-inch fire pit, but I am glad to be able to use this grill on my deck. One of the features I love about this fire pit is the second grill that can be adjusted in height and swung over the fire or away from it. This allows you to keep ingredients waiting to go on the grill, or swing it over the heat and cook or keep food warm. Even without the rotisserie, I am happy just for this feature. The grill also has a built-in place to hang the poker. I added an old round grate at the bottom to increase air circulation, but that’s not necessary. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the screws are small and a bit difficult to start. I followed the directions and didn’t tighten them until a certain point in the process, which helped with the fitting. However, I did have trouble with the last two screws that didn’t go in all the way -yet. If you have a magnetic Phillips head screwdriver, that would help get these short screws started. I’m also wondering if they shouldn’t have nuts to keep them secure. The whole thing was packaged very well, and the company made sure that I wouldn’t miss the instructions. They were in a bag tied with a red satin ribbon which was taped to the outside. I appreciate that they’ve also taken the precaution of vacuum packing and labeling the screws. Figuring out which piece goes where is simple. My only concerns are that I wasn’t able to get the last two screws in all the way yet. Also, I’m wondering if I can lower the rotisserie. As it appears in the ad, it seems to be too far from the fire to cook the meat in a reasonable amount of time. Lastly, you should heed the instructions to keep this powder coated grill dry and not let the large basin fill with water. A plastic cover is included to help. The last powder coated grill I bought rusted quickly out in the elements. ... show more

  • Fun little grill, perfect for burgers, hot dogs, smores, or just a small fire pit
We have a smaller house our kids live in and we wanted something for the very small back yard. Our memories have always been smores around a big firepit, but there was just no way to do a larger firepit in this location. This was a perfect solution. Pro's + It's big enough to put 4 chairs around and have a mid size fire + Overall I was pretty satisfied with the welds they did in key areas. I was a bit worried because it's light weight would it under heat have issues. So far no + Sturdy, I do not think even if you overload it that it could tip over + We have only used it with wood and not coal. I believe it says in the instructions not to use coals. (heat?) + Once put together it's pretty easy to cook burgers/hot dogs on with tongs or a spatula AND the fire has died down a bit + Easy to clean + There is a second rack that goes up and down. It's great for the buns FYI! + Didn't use the rotisserie for meat, BUT you can for a bunch of marsh mellows at the same time. It's a little high so it takes longer but it works! Con's - It's compact, most logs are cut to 18 inches, so putting 3 in there is too many. BUT I split them lengthwise pretty thin, so I have the equivalent of about a log and a quarter to log and a half burning at any one time. I suggest the same. Just makes it easier/safer to handle - I had some issues with the instructions and putting it together, but overcame them. That might just be me. Neutral +/- Cooking on the lower rack, great, but you need to position the wood correctly to have a cooler spot off to one side. It's all heat otherwise and burgers or brats, can get greasy shooting up flames. Otherwise your only choice is to move things off the fire until it calms down. That means you need a table or cooking pan nearby. +/- So I'm not sure how hot this can get before it might have issues. We have only run a fire for about 2 hours. But it would not be unheard of in the winter with family and a few bottles of wine to be running a constant fire for 4-5 hours. We will see. I have some minor discoloration in the bottom paint from the heat, but I kind of expect that. +/- No place to put your tools on it. Tongs, Poker etc. If you don't have a lot of space, need something safe and small, I'd give this a try. I would NOT use it on an apartment balcony or something with an overhanging cover above. ... show more
