Update, delivery by FedEx sucked but the company gave me a small refund. But the product is wonderful, I am very happy with the pergola. It was easy to put up, the trick is to follow the instructions and look at the diagram. Pay attention to how things are layed out in the diagram and that will help you. Open the box and group all the lettered parts together, also the washers come stuck together but the get some scissors and use the blade and they come apart. Good and have fun.

I spent a lot of time researching and choosing a pergola in this price range. This is definitely the best quality for the price I found, but I'm curious to see how long it lasts given the weather (see Con #1 below). PROS: --Diagrams and parts list made it easy to figure out how to put together, just take your time and try not to miss a step (also see Tip #2 below for one step that was missing) --All-steel frame, including the top crossbars --90-degree anchor bars --Four corner posts are one solid piece each, which brings me to the cons... CONS: --All the crossbars and top frame bars are two pieces of steel held together with a weaker metal. This is clearly the primary weakness of this pergola. To be fair, this is the same design as other pergolas in this price range, and I'd say this pergola is even sturdier in comparison (given the Pros above that other pergolas don't have). That said, if someone stands up under the pergola and presses up on the crossbars, the top bows rather than holding strong and lifting the pergola. --Random dents and scratches and pieces that don't fit nicely together (see pictures). My biggest concern here is not the look of dents/scratches but how long it will hold up to weather. TIP: --This pergola would definitely be easier to assemble with 3 or 4 people. That said, my husband (6ft) and I (5ft) did it relatively easily (3-4 hours) after this slight change in assembly: Assemble the 4 corner posts and set them in place on the ground. Assemble the top frame and the two center crossbars, including prepping the screws in place to secure the 4 corner posts. Tallest and strongest person lifts the top frame overhead and holds while the second person goes around to each corner and screws the frame to the 4 corner posts. This of course requires one person to be relatively strong/feel confident lifting the entire top frame overhead and holding for 1-2 mins, and be at least 6 ft tall to get it high enough --Also, the instructions miss ONE step. When attaching G to F. Attach bottom G first, insert F, then make sure to prep and secure the canopy and rings before securing the top G piece. All in all, this is the best quality for the price, but I'm curious to see how it holds up over time! I'll update if I run into any issues, but currently glad to have some shade on this wind-less day :)

So I decided to get this product. And was blown away by the quality of the product. It is not really a 10×10 it's more like 10× 9.4. Thats really not a big deal. I am still happy with the product. It was a 2 person job and it was very easy. Could have did it with one person it would have just taken alittle longer.

Edit: Pushed it down from two stars to one. I have had to put the canopy back on multiple times each day. Duct tape isn’t working. Binder clips aren’t helping. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY THIS. *** First, the box was shipped with missing pieces. The company was great and was able to send out the missing parts, but unfortunately had to send the entire box. So now I have many additional parts that are useless and will end up in the landfill. Plus I had to wait an additional week to complete the setup after I had gotten started. Others have mentioned that the directions are difficult to understand. The biggest issue was that they have you put the bars on the side of the posts before the ring that goes on it. Just had to remove and redo that part. Perhaps the worst part about this is the canopy pieces. The bar that holds the edges down is made of two pieces that are supposed to click together. However, the hole is on the wrong side of the bar, so they do not click. I have had to duct tape the two bars together, which only works sometimes. If it gets windy, and I’m talking a very slight breeze, the bars start to raise and lower, loosening the duct tape. There is absolutely NO way you could use the two different canopies at different heights. They would slide right off the bar. Definitely disappointed in the shortcomings of this product, but since it is providing some much-needed shade and we live in a fairly mild climate, I’ll keep it until we can get something of higher quality.

This pergola looks nice enough for the price paid, but manufacturing and packaging fall way short of ideal. The long, heavy boxes were made out of just average-weight cardboard, and the boxes arrived with many rips and tears. Because of the lack of protection on the outside and no isolation of the parts inside the boxes, many of the long steel parts arrived dented. The dents were mid-span on many pieces and on numerous tubing ends, which necessitated manually bending the ends back open to allow them to mate to other pieces. All four of the ground mounting plates were incorrectly manufactured, so only three of four attachment screws could be attached to the bottom of the posts. More protection for the parts in shipping, and better manufacturing QC, would make all the difference in making the appearance and assembly much less annoying.

All the parts fit well, the holes are where they are supposed to be and the directions are pretty straight forward. 3 people definitely needed for assembly. This is a very nice item.

Looks great! I’d recommend some sand bags for the legs if you aren’t going to attach to the ground. We purchased the 10/12 option. Color is more grey blue, not grey. Instructions were not the best, lol, but totally doable. Hubby and I put it together in about 3 hours. Highly recommended you assemble all of the posts and slats, speeds up the actual build process. I can foresee a wind issue so we will definitely be tying down the awning on those days. We have found if you actually use the rail locks it keeps the awning in fairly good position. So far it has withstood 25 hour wind gusts, with no issues. Also, be sure to use the correct screws, nuts, and bolts. That’s very important! We had no issues with missing pieces. I tried to touch on all of the topics to provide some insight.
