Perfect for the money and Easy to Build

  • A Well-Designed and Easy-to-Assemble Adirondack Chair for the Perfect Outdoor Retreat
Color: Brown
Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of DIY projects, and I’ve built more than a few Adirondack chairs from scratch. Let me tell you, there’s a certain satisfaction in crafting a piece of outdoor furniture by hand—however, it can be incredibly time-consuming, and if you’re not careful, it can get frustrating. I’ve spent entire days carefully measuring and cutting angles with a jigsaw and compound sliding miter saw, only to find that some of my calculations were off, forcing me to redo portions of the project. So when I stumbled upon the SoliWood Outdoor Wooden Adirondack Chair, I figured it would be a refreshing change to try something pre-assembled and easy to put together. After receiving the package and assembling the chair, I was thoroughly impressed with both the design and the ease of assembly. This chair has definitely lived up to my expectations. Right from the start, I appreciated how efficiently the chair was housed. Unlike some items that are bundled with way too much unnecessary bulk or padding, this one was perfectly sized, with each large piece neatly packed without taking up excess space. It arrived with a minimal amount of pieces, all of which were pre-drilled and pre-cut, saving me a lot of time compared to my previous projects. The major components, like the seat board and backrest, came ready to screw together, which made the assembly process incredibly straightforward. The side-specific pieces, like the armrests, were even labeled with L and R to indicate which side they belonged on—such a small touch, but one that saved me from any guesswork. What really stood out to me was how easy and stress-free the assembly was. In less than half an hour, I had the entire chair put together, with no sweat or frustration involved. For comparison, some of my past Adirondack chair builds have taken me several hours, so this was a welcome change. The only part that required any adjustment was attaching the backrest to the frame, but even that was easy to manage. The pieces were designed with just enough play to ensure everything lined up properly, which made the whole assembly feel like a seamless process. Another detail I really appreciated was the inclusion of labeled hardware. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to rummage through bags of screws and bolts to figure out which one goes where, but with the SoliWood chair, everything was clearly marked. This, combined with the fact that only basic tools were needed (a screwdriver or a drill/driver), made assembly much more efficient than I expected. Now, I do own a ton of tools already, so I was more than fine with not receiving the Allen wrenches and cheap flat metal nut wrenches that often come with furniture kits, but I’m glad the company didn’t assume that everyone has a bunch of spare tools lying around. If I were to offer any criticism, it’s that the kit included two different-sized heads for screws, which required a P3 bit for the larger size. For someone who doesn’t have this specific bit, that might pose a minor inconvenience. Luckily, it was easy for me to grab one from my tool collection. One thing I did find a bit lacking in the instructions was any mention of whether the chair requires a sealant after assembly. The wood used in the construction, hemlock, is known for aging well and weathering to a nice brownish hue. However, if left untreated, it could eventually lead to splinters, especially in places where people tend to rest their skin, like the armrests or seat. I know that some people prefer to apply a clear or tinted sealer to protect their furniture, but there was no guidance on whether this was necessary. I’d recommend applying a sealer before or after assembly to prolong the lifespan of the chair and to maintain its aesthetic appeal. As for the chair itself, it is exactly what I was hoping for in terms of comfort and durability. The wood is solid, and the design of the chair is a perfect blend of style and functionality. The backrest provides excellent support, and the wide armrests give you plenty of space to rest your arms comfortably. Even after just a few days of use, I can tell that this chair is going to hold up well outdoors, especially with the proper maintenance. It’s a perfect fit for any backyard, garden, deck, or patio, and it works equally well around a fire pit, pool, or on the beach. I can easily imagine sitting in this chair on a warm evening, enjoying the outdoors, without worrying about the chair getting uncomfortable after a while. It’s also worth mentioning that, unlike some outdoor furniture that feels flimsy or cheap, this chair feels sturdy and substantial. It can easily support my weight without any creaking or wobbling, and it doesn’t feel like it will degrade quickly over time. If you’ve ever had to deal with flimsy outdoor furniture that falls apart after a few seasons, you know how important it is to invest in something built to last. This chair strikes a nice balance between being durable and easy to maintain. The overall aesthetic of the SoliWood Adirondack Chair is another highlight. The natural wood look is timeless and matches well with virtually any outdoor setting. Whether you’re using it on your deck, by the pool, or around a fire pit, it adds a touch of rustic charm to your space. And, because it’s so easy to assemble and maintain, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to add a few Adirondack chairs to their outdoor space without the hassle of building them from scratch. All in all, the SoliWood Outdoor Wooden Adirondack Chair has exceeded my expectations. It’s well-designed, sturdy, and comfortable, with an assembly process that’s as simple as it gets. While I do think it would be helpful if the company provided more information on sealing the wood, this doesn’t take away from how much I enjoy the chair. If you’re looking for a reliable, attractive, and low-maintenance Adirondack chair for your outdoor space, this is a fantastic choice. I’m looking forward to adding more of these chairs to my patio and enjoying them for years to come. ... show more

  • Works great and comfy
Color: Blue
This Adirondack chair came out of the box and ready to easily assemble. Set up was quick and easily understandable. It is sturdy and well made yet lightweight, easy to move around, and looks great. This chair is comparable to more expensive lightweight wooden chairs and for under $50 is great.

  • Nice chair, Unfinished wood
Color: Brown
This is a nice chair, and pretty much in all cases, Adirondack chairs are super comfortable. This one is a little more upright than some, but it's still very comfy. I didn't realize that this was unfinished wood, however, so I always am putting it back inside. I'm hoping eventually to finish it, so I feel more comfortable leaving it out in at least light precipitation, but for now that's not possible. Had I known this, perhaps I would've waited to find one that was painted, finished, or perhaps made out of some other kind of material that's waterproof. But it's fine. Putting it together isn't too hard, but sometimes I had to wiggle it a little bit to make things line up the way they were supposed to. Overall not a bad chair! ... show more

  • Good value for the money, great customer service
Color: Brown
My first chair arrived damaged. There was noticeable damage to the box, and one of the slats on the bottom of the chair had sustained the impact and broken. I immediately contacted there after-purchase support team, and after a second nudge, got an immediate response followed quickly by a replacement chair. Not just the base, but the entire chair. I was very happy with them for that. Assembly of the chair is pretty straight forward with the supplied instruction sheet. There was one step where they tell you to use 4 screws, when in fact, you are only supposed to use 2, but that is obvious from the pre-drilled holes. I did find that some of the mating pre-drilled holes did not quite line up properly, but Hemlock (not cedar as is also referenced on the webpage) is a pretty soft wood, so with a power screw driver, this was not an issue. Unfortunately, most of the T-nuts installed in the wood fell off, which was frustrating. There was one area where the pre-assembled screw caused a crack in the wood. It is not a weight bearing area, so I don't expect it to be a problem. I will inject a little wood glue in there just to keep it from getting worse. Now on to the big question, is it comfortable? To that I give an emphatic YES. I have a bad back, yet still found I could sit very comfortably in it. That reality outweighed all the other little bumps along the way and convinced me to give it the full 5 stars. There is one other bump... How do you finish it to protect it? During my e-mails with the company, I asked that question, and still couldn't get an answer. They recommended I go to the store and ask a professional.... I would have thought the manufacturer would be a professional, but they didn't know what to recommend. I intend to protect it with Thompson's Water Seal because I don't want to lose the look of the natural wood by using paint. Anyway, the pluses outweigh the minuses, so I enthusiastically recommend this chair for the price point it is at. There are definitely better, more robust chairs out there, but you are going to pay big bucks for them.... For me, this chair is perfect. ... show more
