  • You won't be left out in the Cold
Size: Medium Color: Green Check
Where do I even start?! This softshell rain jacket didn't just check all my boxes—it basically rewrote the rulebook. We spent 8 glorious, and a few soggy days in Ireland, and while the Atlantic winds tried their best to turn me into an icicle here and there, this jacket said, "Not today." It kept me toastier than a fresh pub scone, all while making me look incredibly stylish. Here is the breakdown of why this jacket is an absolute rockstar: The Best of Both Worlds: The inside is like a perpetual hug (so soft, so warm), while the outside shrugs off rain like it's nothing more than a minor inconvenience. The Secret Weapon Waistline: BONUS! You can cinch the waistline to actually give you a silhouette. Who says you have to look like a marshmallow just because it's pouring? Fashion, meet function. The "Paparazzi-Ready" Features: Thanks to the protective zipper cover and adjustable cuffs that lock out the elements, my hands were totally free to snap some absolutely stellar photos without freezing off. The Magic Hood: One quick pull and I was in full stealth-mode, tight-fitting protection. Another quick adjustment and boom—it slid right off. Accessorizing-Friendly: I am head-over-heels for the color. It paired perfectly with my collection of newsboy hats and scarves. Total vibe. The Packing Miracle: For the jetsetters out there, this thing is a dream. I shoved it into a travel vacuum bag with several other items, sucked the air out, and it shrunk down to practically nothing. True Test: Wearing it while golfing in Ireland!! Bundled and warm.. but still able move easily which allowed me to shoot a low score! BOOM! As you can see the wind was howling!! We also had a bit of sleet about an hour before this photo...If you've been to Ireland.. you know how quickly the weather can change from one extreme to the next. If you need a jacket that can handle the elements and still keep you looking like a million bucks, highly, highly recommend! ... show more

  • Warm, waterproof, lightweight and flattering, this jacket just works.
Size: X-Large Color: Dark Grey-check
I bought this Outdoor Ventures light Weight Rain Jacket for winter weather and light travel, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well it performs. It’s completely fleece-lined but still feels lightweight and easy to move in, which I really appreciate. I tested it in light snow and rain, and it kept me warm and dry the entire time. One of my favorite features is the two-way zipper. It sounds small, but it makes a huge difference when you’re getting in and out of the car or sitting for a while — you can unzip the bottom for extra room and comfort, or add a scarf around your neck and lower the top zipper to make the outfit more chic. The hood adjusts nicely, the sleeve openings are adjustable to keep out the cold, and the pockets are roomy enough for phone, keys, and gloves. The fit is flattering without being bulky, and the longer length gives great coverage on windy or chilly days. I sized up so I could layer underneath for upcoming travel, and yet pinch in the waist to give me shape and it was the right choice. Overall, this jacket is warm, practical, and well-designed. I’m very happy with it and would definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • Perfect for cold and rainy weather
Size: Large Color: Dark Grey-check
I bought this jacket for a 2 week trip in February to Scotland, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. This was the perfect jacket for all of those cold, wet days. The water beaded up and fell off and it dried quickly when brought inside. The hood is generous and shielded my face from the rain. It did make it hard to look both ways at the streets, but I just pulled it back a bit to see better. The pockets were warm and large sized. They have zippers that kept my things safe and secure if I didn't want my hands in them. The length was very nice for me -- I'm 5'8" and it covered my bum. Could have used another couple inches, but it was definitely long enough. The sizing was a little generous, so I could fit warm layers under it. Not a bulky sweater, but multiple thinner layers. I stayed very warm throughout my trip. The only thing that bugged me a bit was the velcro tabs at the cuffs. The velcro grabbed some of my wool clothes and when I tightened the cuffs, it made a stiff fold that I felt. I may try to engineer an alternative cuff tightening solution, but it wasn't bad at all. This was the perfect jacket for about 30-50 degrees and rainy. It is NOT lightweight, as the title states. ... show more

  • Nice, quality jacket at a reasonable price minus a few personal complaints.
Size: X-Large Color: Dark Blue
This is a GREAT jacket. It very much reminds me of a Columbia fleece-lined rain jacket that I got on sale years ago (which I wore out until almost threadbare years ago) and haven't been able to find a similar one since for a good price. While this doesn't have some of the bells and whistles that my old jacket had (thumb holes, more inner pockets, etc) this is REALLY close, and I love that it's a bit longer. The microfleece is good quality. It also has a double zipper that my old jacket didn't have. I usually go between L-XL (larger bust). I went with the XL because I like to layer-- and this had a decent amount of room without feeling oversized. But, I could have probably done one size smaller. I tested this out the same day I got it because it was windy and a bit cold-- I didn't have any layers underneath and it feel nicely warm. I have high hopes for this! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I haven't had the ability to try it in rainy weather. I would be happy to change it to five stars if a rainy day comes along and it works out-- I have full confidence and am not worried about since it feels the same to my old jacket (which often kept me nicely dry) The other reason I gave it one less star is for my only complaint about this jacket is where the outer pockets are placed. This could be a matter of having sized up slightly (not sure though). I feel like they sit a little too low. I'm short and have shorter arms. I like my pockets to be at (more or less) elbow/waist height. These start at around my hips/upper thigh and run almost the length of the bottom half of the jacket. They are big pockets, so I can't complain too much. But, still, I would love to just rest my hands in there while walking around and that's not really possible with this cut. Still, good quality jacket at a decent price. ... show more

  • Well made, well proportioned, comfortable. This is quality.
Size: 3X-Large Color: Modern Blue
Wow, better than expected! It’s remarkably difficult to find something comfortable and flattering in a size 24W. This raincoat/jacket is my new favorite thing. Perfectly proportioned. Gorgeous color. Sleeves are right. Shoulders are right. Zipper and snaps are functional and well made. Hood fits and when it’s zipped all the way up the hood actually stays on without interfering with line of sight. The inside pockets are super deep, so they’re not freely accessible but they will definitely deter pickpockets. The outside pockets are well placed and comfortable - I love that they zip shut. I’m 5’10” and the XXXL is the perfect length. It’s going to be my go-to jacket this fall in Europe, for sure. Happy me. ... show more

  • A keeper even though it wasn't what I'd intended to buy! Just call me an Amazon sucker!
Size: Small Color: Light Green
I bought this raincoat hoping it was a light, packable coat to take on a trip overseas. When it arrived, I was disappointed that it was not something I could easily squeeze in the bottom of my suitcase as was my purpose. I had even begun a return without trying it on because it was so much heavier than the envelope-packable coat I'd hoped for. However, at the last minute, I took it out of the zippered bag to try on. When I saw the pleasing, light green color (my camera didn't do it justice), the construction and generous, but not too large, sizing, I decided to keep it. It will be a good, long-term, yet still lightweight, raincoat. I intend to wear it on the plane instead of packing it in a ziplock or a small pack. It will still fit in the suitcase, but not be as compact as hoped. We travel with carry-ons only, so I needed the compactness, but hadn't thought about wearing it instead of packing it. There are several places for adjusting the coat against the weather and for the fit you want. The sleeves have velcro attachments for ease of adjustment. There are AMPLE pockets both inside and out as well as an inside adjustable pull for cinching the waist down if desired. An adjustable pull is also included for cinching the bottom of the coat for additional protection from the elements. The hood, too, has ties with which you can tighten it to better protect your head and face. One of the features that impressed me was that there is not only a front zipper with an overlapping zipper placket, but also a placket behind the zipper, so your body is protected from two directions as well as water dripping down the front. An additional benefit of the jacket design is that it is fleece-lined, making it a great transitional coat for shoulder seasons as well as winter here in the south. The front zipper slides smoothly and the two outside angled zippered pockets open and close easily, as well. It is classy looking and well-constructed and designed coat. While not as light as I had hoped, the other features lured me to add it to my jacket collection. The fabric is durable, yet not overly heavy and appears to be breathable for wearing in our southern humidity. ... show more

  • Perfect!
Size: Medium Color: Black
This jacket is perfect! The quality of the fabric is amazing. It is warm without being too heavy, it is waterproof, and flattering. It goes past your backside so it is a great length as well. Plenty of pockets. This is a must buy!

  • Great quality for the price with a couple of downsides to consider
Size: XX-Large Color: Dark Blue
This is an incredibly well-made raincoat for the price. It kept me and my phone completely dry for 10-days of drizzle, mist, and rain in Iceland. The zippers work, the pockets zip and fit my phone, it has a warm fleece liner, and it has snaps in addition to the zipper down the front if it isn't raining hard. There were two main downsides, but nothing that deserved the removal of a star. First: the fleece liner made it hard to take on and off if you had a sweater or fleece jacket underneath (my husband had to help me every single time so l did everything but shower and sleep in it) and the fleece made it bulky to pack (compression cubes a must). Second: in order to get the shoulders and back to allow comfortable movement, I had to size up to a 2XL (I am 5'5" and 130 lbs). Granted, I had on a thermal layer, a heavy sweater, and another fleece jacket underneath so most of you won't have to size up so drastically. Since I value warmth and dryness, I didn't mind not being fashionably chic. Also, if you wear glasses, put on a waterproof ball cap under the hood because it runs a little small. ... show more
