This outdoor electrical box with two outlets is made with high-quality materials and is very durable. It simply plugs into any 3-prong outlet, so there's no need to hardwire it to your electrical system. Installation is a breeze since all you have to do is plug this into an existing outlet and then hang it outside. This looks nice on the outside of your house without being obnoxious, but one big problem ZI had was trying to use any plugs that stuck out instead of being right-angle. The right-angle plugs allowed the cover to close completely, but the ones that stuck straight out would force the cover to stay open. With the cover open, the whole waterproof thing goes out the window. Other than this one problem, this works great to take one indoor plug to two outdoor plugs. There's plenty of room to plug in things like timers, even enough space to have two timers plugged in at once. There are on/off switches for each plug as well.     • Cover is not deep enough to handle a standard 3 prong grounded plug/cord

Even though this outlet accepts a standard 3 prong grounded plug, there is no way to shut the cover because it is not deep enough, needs at least another half inch to clear to height of the cord and plug. Kind of defeats the water resistant feature if you can't snap the cover shut.

Sure beats running power to a new outlet, or using extension cords. We have a weather protected power outlet under the raised deck around the pool, but need for power above the deck. I'm able to easily run the power up to the area, providing the power needed in the form of an outlet rather than the end of an extension cord ... and an outlet that can turn off the device without pulling the plug, and providing protection from the weather. Installing the equivalent yourself with the same functionality, you'll easily spend more than the price of the product, not to mention the time involved. Definitely solves a problem, faster and cheaper, a winning combination. ... show more

Better than an extension cord and less expensive than installing an outlet! Really impressed with the quality of this entire box. It comes pre-wired. Just mount it where you wish and plug it in. The box itself is nicely sealed - INCLUDING the latches which double as the inlets for the cords you may plug into it. I needed power outside of my garage but did not want to deal with an electrician and got tired of running extension cords. This was a perfect solution. I drilled a 1/2 inch hole through the outside wall, reinstalled the cord to the reciprocal box and plugged it into the wall socket.
