  • Very happy with purchase
Size: 2 Stroke 3.5HP Outboard Motor Boat Engine
Initially was hesitant seeing the price of this unit compared to name brand. How could it possibly work for so cheap? Watched a few videos and looked at reviews and went for it. I also purchased a 120$ kayak side motor mount that quickly snapped due to the power this motor makes. 3.5horses is more than I imagined. I ended up making one out of lumber and 1/2” steel anchors with a ratchet strap just to be sure I don’t almost lose my motor again. 1/4 throttle was easily propelling my wife and I 5mph 1/2 throttle was about 8. And my comfort zone Full throttle was 11-13mph, very fast for a kayak Motor starts easily every time, I am able to start it on the water without worrying about tipping over. Very reliable unit and efficient. I find I get about 1.5 hours run time per tank, be sure to watch a video explaining how to do the gear oil, grease, and break in before you mess something up. Would highly reccomend to anyone for trolling motor for larger boat, or primary propulsion on smaller boats and kayaks. I went with this gas motor over the electric motors because I didn’t want to deal with wiring, a more expensive motor (300$ for the trolling motor I wanted and another 300$ for batteries, then wiring nonsense! 700$+ and all that weight? This unit is really light and without a stabilizer in the water we don’t list to one side even with it mounted on the right side in the rear. ... show more

  • Works great so far
Size: 2 Stroke 3.5HP Outboard Motor Boat Engine
The media could not be loaded. This was my first time to buy a small motor from china. I came packaged extremely well. Motor looks good, quality paint. I contained the extra items mentioned in there add. One thing i would suggest to the company is to have someone that is well versed in the English language to help them REWRITE their directions that come with the motor. its easy to tell, it was simply someone that had learned the english language and verbiage rather than a person of english decent to write it. The directions are abit confusing or hard to understand (at least they were for me here in Texas) VERY IMPORTANT-- YOU MUST FILL THE LOWER UNIT SURROUNDING THE PROP WITH GEAR OIL!!. I check this sort of thing naturally, but, I dont think some others would. Also, the directions versus the add are contradicting on their explaniation of the oil mixture to breakin the motor with and the mixture to use once its broke in. I started with I believe the 1-35 or 1-30 (going from memory) . Remember, once you put the gas in it to PUSH THE PRIME PUMP. The motor started easily after a couple of pulls. The directions arent real clear on which direction is on choke or off. but, I figured it out. Motor runs pretty good. I have no problems with it. I think it will run smoother and faster when I get the leaner mixture of gas in it after break in. I bought mine to put on my kayak to use for longer distance to and from the fishing spot trips so i could have longer range to go to places other kayakers might not be able to venture to. Ive taken my kayak out using this motor 3 times now. Probably have put 10 miles of use on it, and no problems so far. im pretty pleased... now the CONS I mentioned the directions. just read thru them and use common sense. When you go to put in the gear oil, be very delicate. The edges of the aluminum are very tight and sharp. there is a rubber ring washer between the two pieces, I replaced mine, the existing, due to the sharp edges and tightness had some shearing. You want that washer nice and round to expand to keep the saltwater out and the gear oil in. Next- The company should up grade the little button that you push in to hold the motor up and have it where it can be alternated to either the port or starboard side depending on where you will be sitting. That little button will be use EVERY trip. IMO, It should be of a higher quality design. Im just being real careful with mine. Next, the motor comes with a couple extra shear pins. I suggest you get you 15 to 20 of them and carry with you EVERY TIME YOU ARE ON THE WATER... get you a few extra Kotta pens also. and YOU MUST CARRY WITH YOU a pair of pliers to change out the shear pens. I bought me 2 extra ALUMINUM props and am not going to use the plastic for anything other than a emergency spare. The aluminum props are under $20 dollars, by you AT LEAST TWO. one to put on to use rather than the plastic, the other as a spare. If there was a stainless available, I would buy that over the aluminum. but, I havent found one yet. NOW, THE BIGGEST CON OF ALL IF YOU LIVE IN THE US. Here in Texas, our Texas Parks and Wildlife REQUIRES all gas powered outboards to be equipped with a KILL SWITCH AND LANYARD YOU CAN ATTACH TO YOUR ARM. THIS MOTOR DOES NOT HAVE THAT so essentially here in my state, it is Illegal to use!!!!!!!. The motor comes with a Kill button on top. That I think works the same. I havent taken the Cowling off to inspect yet to see if that is an electrical button, but, im hoping it is. If So, I can simply go on Amazon and buy a kill switch and lanyard to put on my self or have a mechanic install. I SUGGEST THE COMPANY TO HAVE THEIR DESIGNERS INSTALL THIS ON THEIR MOTORS IMMEDIATELY. FOR AS I MENTIONED, FOR ME TO USE IT HERE IN MY STATE, ITS ILLEGIAL TO USE IF I DONT HAVE A LANYARD CONNECTED TO MY BODY TO STOP THE MOTOR SHOULD I FALL OUT. Ive been lucky so far and havent been caught. But, Im ordering a kill switch and lanyard today. Over all, yes, I would recommend this little motor. It moves my kayak about 6-7 miles per hour at wide open. easy to start, VERY light weight to carry if needed, and has a quality paint job and looks pretty cool also. Ive already recommended it to a couple friends who have seen me use it. ... show more

  • Works great and fast delivery
Size: 2 Stroke 3.5HP Outboard Motor Boat Engine
I received the motor today and per other reviews on this type of motor I added gear oil and set it up to run just above idle so it breaks in. All is going fine at this point. Also I’m impressed with this seller for shipping this so fast and no damages or concerns.

  • So far not terrible
Size: 2 Stroke 3.5HP Outboard Motor Boat Engine
Just did an unboxing and some inspection. Have not used it yet. Pros: Lightweight, simple, cost effective, quality doesnt seem to be trash based on cost, comes with zinc plate for saltwater, has tool kit (screw driver, allen keys, wrench, spark plug tool), spare pull cord and housing, spare water impellar Cons: Prop is plastic (amazon sells a metal one for around 20ish dollars) , metal shaft is probably a pot metal. owners manual has an english section that is near impossible to understand, fuel mixing tank has no markings for fill points for oil or gas IMPORTANT: does not come with gear oil, must remove prop then a shear pin, and then plate to access the gear box for gear oil. Also needs marine grease and there is a brass colored nipple at top of shaft below cowl for it From what ive researched the motor requires 10hrs breakin between 20-30 percent throttle (submerge prop in water when breaking it in. Must use ethanol free gas with a 35:1 ratio of fuel and oil (believe it is 3.7oz of 2cyl oil per 1 gallon of gas). Supposedly after the break in period you can go to a 50:1 ratio ... show more

  • Great little motor.
Size: 2 Stroke 3.5HP Outboard Motor Boat Engine
The air vent grate for the top of the motor came loose in the box. After several messages to the seller I was able to get it in where it should have been. I broke it in with 24:1, then used the spare gas can which has an oil compartment. Had it out on the lake once and it performed very well. Started up with three or four pulls and I didn’t have the choke on. Quite a few restarts in one pull. I love it. The prop doesn’t turn at idle speed and it doesn’t appear to pump cooling water without the prop turning. Just a dribble of cooling water comes out of the shaft. With the prop engaged it goes a little too fast for trolling on my 10’ Quest Angler. ... show more

  • Watch lots of youtube before purchasing
Size: 2 Stroke 3.5HP Outboard Motor Boat Engine
The only thing I liked was the price. However you definitely get what you pay for. The owner's manual lost alot in the translation. You cannot use it right out of the box. Make sure to watch videos to find out all that the manual neglects to tell you. Better off buying an old Johnson or Evinrude.
