Our water is not too hard but, after seeing the buildup of minerals around my sink drains, water stains from hard water, and having to rinse out faucet aerators to remove buildup, I realized all that gunk must be in my hair, as well! After losing most of my hair from an illness, it grew back curly, so with all the hair products, along with hard water, I decided to get a detox shampoo. I purchased this shampoo, and I'm not disappointed! It lathers very nicely! It does leave my hair squeaky clean, so I always use a heavier conditioner after washing and leave it in for a few minutes before I rinse it out. It really helps my curls pop back! This is not a cheap shampoo, but it was definitely money well spent! I love the golden color and the smell is nice. It doesn't clash with or overpower the scent of my hair products.

I used Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo about once/week for many years, then it became hard to find, and when I could find it the price was higher than I wanted to pay for a shampoo that was somewhat drying. I discovered Ouai Detox shampoo and gave it a try. I was very pleased with it, and have now been using it (intermittently with my regular shampoo) for months. For reference, my hair is wavy/curly, color treated, and tends to be very dry. Ouai Detox shampoo is a gel formula that smells really pleasant. I find that while it really does remove product build-up from my hair (I use several products), it leaves my hair in terrific condition - no dry-out. I feel that it's well worth the price. I will continue to use it, and I recommend it.

ok so i got this shampoo in hopes of fading my hair color since i didn’t want to go through another round of bleach and it works pretty well !! my hair definitely felt clean and it smells so good !! it didn’t fade the color as much but my hair feels great so i’m happy !! def recommend if you want a good clean that doesn’t make your hair feel dry !! (i have curly hair)

I have been trying to be better about not washing my hair as much and on the day I do wash my hair, hair oiling a few hours before. So on top of not being the cleanest by wash day and then oiling as well, my hair needs a DEEP clean by wash day. This stuff does it! After I do a double wash with this, before I condition my ends, (idk how to describe it without sounding bad) my hair does not feel soft and almost slightly coarse..? BUT I genuinely feel like its CLEAN after using it (especially compared to just double washing with my normal shampoo, Biolage) especially after all the hair products I have put in it through the non-wash days and the day to day dirty-ness. After I condition my ends, it feels soft again, but more importantly, CLEAN and FRESH, especially my scalp!

You only need a small amount to remove buildup from styling products. It left my hair very soft and shiny, but also left my scalp very clean. It may tend to be drying, so I only use it once a week. Would definitely repurchase.
