My biggest problem was the shipping company as they refuse to follow simple delivery instructions. However, the item on-time and the package arrived in good shape. The inside package didn’t contain any “stuffing” so the otter box was moving around freely-not an issue since the “used” cover came in original packaging which had slight scuff marks; but was undamaged condition. The product itself was in perfect shape and without blemish. Installation was easy, but could be a little challenging for those who follow the included instructions. When you completely disassemble the cover, don’t be timid of separating the backside from the screen protector. Take your time and start at one corner working down one side then another. Once off, clean the screen of the IPad. Excessive oil and lint cause the screen protector to raise a little and makes the touchscreen slightly harder to navigate. Snapping the screen protector over the IPad and the back is a breeze if you put it together orientated correctly. The rubber goes on easy enough, but it usually won’t seat correctly without lifting the edge of the rubber over the edge of the shell. Once done, this sits flush and makes a great seal. Based on my previous otter box, I expect it to last 4 years with daily heavy use. The front cover is great for a stand and protects the screen in backpacks and briefcases. The first thing to break on my previous box was the rubber lightening cover. That lasted 3 years. I took the case apart to clean the insides every 10 months or so. Dust, grime, and other things will collect on the back of the iPad. It’s easily cleaned, but worth the trouble..

Reasons I love this case: 1. Excellent protection all around. 2. Very comfortable feel holding the case and slightly grippy but not too much. Not at all slippery. 3. Built in screen protector works excellent! I was hesitant to buy this case mostly because of the built in screen protector. I was afraid it would diminish the beautiful iPad Pro screen and introduce glare. Well I can't notice it. No bubbles, no rainbows, etc. It does add a little more glare when a light source is reflecting off at just the right angle but not much at all. 4. The Apple pencil works perfectly. No lag, delay, nada. Another plus to the built in screen protector is that it adds just slightly more friction when using the Apple pencil. This actually makes the Apple pencil much more accurate and easier to use. No sliding around. 5. Fit and finish are perfect. Fits like a glove and looks very good. 6. Love the hard screen protector. I leave this off most of the time while in the house. I leave it in my backpack and put it on when traveling with my iPad Pro. It also snaps into the back of the case so you can have just one unit. ONLY downside to this is that it will block the camera. Cons: Really none except the hard screen cover does not have a camera peephole. Not a deal breaker. Case is Awesome.

I have purchased OtterBox products for many of my handheld devices throughout the years and have been very pleased. When I remove the covers all of my devices look like new. Even though I have dropped my phones or IPad, I was always relieved that my devices never broke because they were protected in the OtterBox case. I recently purchased the IPad Air 3. After reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant to buy the Otterbox Defender for my new IPad Air. But since I have had great success using Defender cases on my other purchases, I decided to take my chances and buy the OtterBox Defender for my IPad Air 3 as well. There were reviews stating that their new IPad Pro or Air broke while putting it in the OtterBox case. That was not my experience. My Ipad Air 3 fit perfectly inside the Otterbox Defender case. Many have complained about the screensaver on the Defender case. There again I have never had any issues with the screensaver. I owned my other IPad for years and it still has no scratches on the screensaver. The screensaver is very responsive - no issues with that. Also the fingerprint ID works great. I think screensaver vs no screensaver is a matter of personal preference. This is a very sturdy case. My only disappointment is they only offer the case in black. I wish they would offer more color choices. One last thing... if you have difficulty figuring out how to open the case, OtterBox has a tutorial which was very helpful to me. I would recommend this case.
