Although I have no experience with reasonable cost hearing aids, I find; this one to be unusuable. Following all instructions it still generates a very loud squeal when inserting in ear, will also squeal when near an object. The 5 stage volume control starts out incredibly loud at the lowest setting. The manufacturer provides a web site which is "under construction"- do no try to get additional information. This should be called "hearing amplifier" rather than a "hearing aid." It does not provide assistance specific to your ears, or filter out sounds. It gives general amplification of everything around you. I have more luck with it picking up nearby sounds than farther away sounds. I find it comfortable to wear and it does stay in place for me. It comes with a nice, padded case. The case is for storage, not for charging. To charge, you put the included USB C cable into the hearing amplifier itself. There is an off/on switch and a volume knob. Make sure you have it off or the volume down all the way before inserting it into your ear or else you will get a nasty, squealing feedback. While the device does make voices louder and easier to hear, it does also pick up static and random noises from the room. I have been on a search to find just the right hearing aid/amplifier for my circumstances and have tried about 10 different brands by now. Everyone's going to be a bit different. While this helps, it wasn't the most helpful one I have tried. Since this is not available for sale at the moment (new item, only through Vine for now), I do not know what the selling price will end up being. The ones that I have had the best luck with are two from different manufacturers that copy the design of the Apple Airpods. I can't recommend a specific brand, but better ones are out there. Unfortunately, they also tend to be higher-priced. I would say that these would be a reasonable choice if they end up selling for under $75.

These hearing aids are a wonderfully affordable option if you, or a family member, is in need of some additional help hearing everyday sounds. I got these for a family member that is in the nursing home. We didn’t want to spring for a high dollar pair when they will, most likely, end up getting damaged or lost. I love that they have a charging case, and the charging time is relatively fast. I haven’t timed it, but they say it’s 2 hours. I just know that we haven’t had a problem keeping them charged and I had worried that we would spend more time charging them than being able to use them. They last all day and at night they sit in the case and charge then they are ready to use the next day. They are not difficult to put in and take out. Each piece is noted with “R” and “L” to indicate that it’s the right or left earpiece. Just push them in snuggly and when ready to remove there’s an antenna looking piece that’s actually an attachment to use to remove them. Just grab and gently pull each earpiece out. So far, they have worked wonderfully.

You'll be happy with these. Although they look like the more expensive "in-the-ear" type of hearing aid, they are amplify ALL sounds... they aren't fine tuned to only amplify certain high frequencies. As a result, things can sound a bit "tinny" but, as I said before, adjust your expectations. These are affordable hearing aids and will certainly improve the quality of someone's life. They are easy to insert, they fit comfortably, and the little "antenna/wire" allows her to remove them easily. The volume control is a button that's easy to press and cycle through the volume levels (not a knob to twist for people with dexterity issues, arthritis, or strength issues.) The affordable price makes them ideal for elderly nursing home residents because hearing aids are frequently lost or misplaced by residents with dementia and limited mobility. But if that happens, the reasonable price makes these easy to replace. FAVORITE FEATURE: They are easily rechargeable because the recharge-box (storage) which has its own battery. You can keep these plugged into a USB-A to C charger cable for non-stop charging. OR, if you want to travel with them... just the storage box alone will provide a few days worth of charging without needing to plug-in. VERY CONVENIENT!! I'm very pleased with these and I believe that you will be too!
