  • bad top zipper
Not a bad tackle box however the zipper tore apart after only very limited (2/ one week) fishing trips. It's the top zipper that need to be fully open to remove lure trays etc. Bummer. Bag has plenty of storage and other handy features. UPDATE...spoke w manufacturer and they resolved the issue so I change my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars ... show more

  • Good tackle bag
Color: Navy, Large Size: Large
It was bigger that we pictured so can't complain. It has lots of pockets for organizing. Overall seems to be good quality. I don't like that it doesn't come with any boxes in it.

  • A Perfect Fit
Color: Green, Medium Size: Medium
***SKIP TO BOTTOM FOR DIRECT REVIEW VS. THE STORY BEHIND IT*** My boys and I have been saltwater fishing since they could hold a rod. Fast forward 15ish years, and one of my sons is in college out of state, and my youngest was at a Jr College not too far from the coast. He and I would get together at least two days a month to fish at our favorite place. Bittersweetly, he transferred to the same school as his brother so they can have one season of college baseball on the same team. During a recent trip, I asked Joey where the tackle box was. Now, keep in mind that I live in Round Rock, TX and he was an hour away from the coast. Since the boys were finally big enough to take over the fishing gear duties, I’ve relied on them to make sure we have what we would need. Joey looked at me and said he brought some stuff that he needed but didn’t bring the tackle box because he needed to sort it out. I asked him if he had anything that I could use, and, naturally, he didn’t. He was fishing for larger fish, specifically for bull reds, whereas I was fine with my smaller rod and reel and was happy with flounder and specs. All the tackle he brought were for much larger fish than I wanted. So, my fishing trip turned into a sea combing trip. I could have gone to get some 1/0-2/0 hooks and a couple of leads and a popping cork if I had I felt like driving a minimum of 10-15 minutes and paying triple the price, I could have, but I was content as things were. We fished late into the night, as was typical then headed home. How does this relate to my review of this tackle box, you might be asking…Well, to backtrack a bit, within minutes of realizing my typically responsible son had left me without tackle, I vowed to myself that I was just going to get my own tackle box and stock it with everything I might need, even things my son had told me I’d never need. I wanted my own tackle box that I could use however I wanted to with whatever I wanted to put it. So, my quest for the perfect tackle box began. My favorite color is orange, so I was stubbornly holding onto the notion of an orange tackle box. I looked online and in stores, but nothing seemed right. Either they were too big or too small, or too flimsy or too cumbersome to carry comfortably, or, in many cases, they came pre-stocked with tackle that I likely wouldn’t use. I finally decided to open my options up a little bit and start looking at other tackle boxes that would suit my actual fishing needs instead of settling on something I really didn’t like other it being orange. And so, my new quest began. It wasn’t long into my search that I came across the Osage River Tackle Bag, specifically for saltwater uses. After several other “finalists,” I had to make a choice. This was the only one I hadn’t tracked down at a local store to actually get my hands on it to check it out in person. Even so, it’s the one I kept coming back to. With Amazon’s return policy, I made my decision and purchased this one. I had it delivered to the school I teach 1st grade at, and when the front office called to tell me I had a package and asked for me to send someone to get it if I wanted it right then, I was afraid I’d have to create some type of riot gear to maintain order, as they all wanted to be the one to get it. I decided I’d just pick it up during lunch. ***ACTUAL REVIEW BEGINS NOW*** I could barely contain my excitement when I opened the box! The colors were bright and beautiful! The orange and blueish colors looked perfect together! Once I got it out of the wrapper, I was immediately pleased with the durable feel of the material it was made from. The more I inspected it, the more pleased I was! If you’re one who likes LOTS of pockets, this will definitely suit you! Any area of the bag that could securely hold a pocket without jeopardizing the quality of the overall product, there are pockets. There are pockets within pockets in all shapes, sizes, and purposes. I’m typically one who runs out of pockets on backpacks and whatnot, but with this, I actually had pockets left that I could add random items to! The actual tackle portion is just as impressive, if not more so. The bottom has a clear, hard internal bottom to prevent your items from becoming wet, something nice to have if you’re not using the tailgate of a truck or the back of a Jeep. Another super handy part is the shoulder strap. I’m one who wears a cross-body purse to keep it from falling off my shoulder, so imagine my surprise when I realized I could carry the tackle bag crossbody! I mean, seriously, who couldn’t use a tackle bag that’s not going to slip off your shoulder while carrying it along with a couple of rods/reels and anything else you’d like to carry to have to make only one trip. I’m a 5’6,” not petite female, so I can’t guarantee a 6’+, 200+ lbs male could wear it in such a way, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it could be. The only thing that initially concerned me was the zipper around the main compartment. Before anything was in it, the trim holding the zipper kinda curled a bit, making it difficult to close; however, once I had it all packed up, the zipper wasn’t an issue. It just needed something to push it out a bit. The tackle compartments, or whatever they’re called, filled it quite nicely. I can say with confidence that this is a durable, convenient, good looking tackle bag that can meet all of your fishing needs. On a final note, for Christmas, my boys got me a heavier rod/reel so I can catch the big fish, too! This tackle box easily accommodates the heavier tackle, alongside the not-so-heavy stuff! ... show more

  • Tears on inside lining after one use
Big bag to accommodate gear for a day on the boat -- lots of pockets with pretty sturdy zippers. However, after one day of use, we noticed a big tear in the inside seam of the main compartment. No way to repair that we can tell, and we can't return it because we didn't actually use it until after the return period expired. We were hoping to get years of use from this bag. ... show more
