The media could not be loaded. Great little machine. There is definitely a learning curve. You can buy it for less at AliExpress but long delivery times. Update after a month: This is a fabulous machine. Of course there were startup issues. The assembly instructions weren’t great but other customers have created excellent videos. Getting the cables right is the key. The software is just ok(LaserGRBL), I bought LightBurn for $40, excellent software. Be patient the software for a newbie is complicated. Use YouTube for tutorials become a member of the Ortur user group on FaceBook, be patient. I love this little machine. I only do engraving on wood but the possibilities are endless. Cutting wood is tricky for a blue diode laser I don’t plan to do any cutting it requires thin wood and multiple passes. But you can cutout paper & cardboard. The laser glasses that come with it are cheap. I need laser glasses that fit over my prescription glasses. Amazon to the rescue. I also bought a G8 lens to replace the stock lens, engraving perfection. UPDATE after 6 months Still going strong, this is a great little machine for engraving on wood and other materials. Some really nice results on coasters, cutting boards and creating a logo. I’ve not had any issues with the machine. Learning and setting up the software is the biggest learning curve. The G8 lens has really been great for engraving, it allows much more detail but it does require focusing the lens to the correct focal point. I added a Z axis adjuster because the optimal focus height is 35mm and being able to adjust the Z axis up and down eliminates having to raise or lower the work piece. I changed my rating from4 stars to 5. This is a great little Machine.

So far so good! one day in, a couple of things engraved, much more accurate than i thought it would be, also much quicker which is nice. Reason for 4/5 is due to assembly instructions. VERY minimalist one or two words per image, and the images are low rez black-and-white for a black machine so its hard to see any details. I ended up youtubing an assembly tutorial.

Seems pretty easy to set up and start using right out of the box. You do have to pay attention to the rails when you install them. So far everything I have burned looks amazing. Update 12/20/24: My laser would not turn on after using for 3 months. contacted Ortur and there Customer service was excellent. we diagnosed the problem and they sent me the new part and we are back in business. giving them 5 stars for the great customer support.

Assembly instructions could have been a bit more descriptive, but there are a few review videos on YouTube to use. All in all it went together fairly easy and fired up with only minor questions. After loading lasergrbl and some clip art from Easel into my PC the unit was operating nicely. I can't wait to see what new things I can try.

I purchased the Ortur Laser Master 2 S2 engraver on April 23, 2025, for $260, hoping for a reliable tool for my projects. As a professional with experience assembling electronic and mechanical equipment, I found the assembly process extremely frustrating due to the inadequate instructions provided. The manual lacks critical steps, making it difficult to follow even for someone with technical expertise. The included photos and diagrams are unclear, with poor orientation and insufficient detail, complicating the process further. Additionally, some steps did not align with the hardware included in the package, which added to the confusion. Amazon notes this item is frequently returned, and I can understand why based on my experience. Another significant concern is the lack of guidance on grounding the engraver to protect against static electricity, a crucial safety step. I discovered a separate online manual (not referenced in the provided instructions) that outlines a complex process involving additional tools, wires, soldering, and disassembling small connectors. This suggests a design oversight, as grounding should be integrated into the product’s build or clearly addressed in the official documentation. While the engraver boasts specifications like 10,000mW maximum luminous power, a 445±5nm wavelength, and a Class 4 laser, these features are overshadowed by the poor assembly experience and incomplete instructions. I was disappointed with this product and would not recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made to the documentation and design. I hope Ortur addresses these issues to better support future buyers. Notice ! There is so many YouTuber that use this machine but I got lucky with a machine that doesn't work out of the box and the only problem that it has is the the machine is not getting no power supply from the wall adapter. I try to see what I was doing wrong I got help online and follow the advice during that time I didn't notice the my window of return was closing on me until was too late. Because I really want to keep the machine so now I have to deal with ortur all the way to china to return it or exchange it. NOW looking at there Chinese Amazon store is like 200 hundred dollars cheaper so now this may take a long time to get the machine exchange. After all very disappointed because the machine doesn't work out the box. I hope the I didn't trash over 400 hundred dollars lucky me!!! And all of this to find out the my wall outlet doesn't work I'm a fool thank you ORTUR great support and is the user most likely the one the mess thing up!! Like me and thanks to the question and answer s from Amazon they greatest!! My Apologies!!
